Fix timeline and workload view scroll problems - it gets reset back to the beginning of time

On the timeline and workload views, it first shows a time window near 'today'. 

 

However as soon as I want to scroll further into the future, I go down to the scroller, and it resets the view back to the beginning of time, and then I have to scroll back to 'today' before I can do what I wanted.
