[Launched! ๐] Duplicate automations
Hello community,
We think it would be very helpful to be able to duplicate automations. Especially when you have a lot of automations, it would be easier not to start from scratch each time.ย
What do you think?ย
Please upvote when you think it would be a helpful improvement.
Thanks

100% agree. I need to duplicate an automation and just change one on condition and one move to folder.
Thanks a lot for supporting this suggestion Negar Amiri, and welcome to the Community ๐

I agree also.ย THere are several objects that can't be duplicated.ย But an automation task should be able to be duplicated.ย Then you can update just the action or filter that fits the new implementation.

Thanks Giovanni De Giovanni! Could you share an example of when it would be useful for you to duplicate an automation?ย

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your message. Certainly, I'll provide a couple of examples where it would be useful to be able to duplicate an automation.
In the attached screenshot, you can see that there are three automations named 8A, 8B, and 8C (right after those, you'll find others named 1A and 1B).
Taking the case of 8A, 8B, and 8C, these three automations structurally do the same thing but with reference to different custom fields. In all these cases, it would be much faster to duplicate the first created automation and then modify the duplicated automation by correcting the parameter that needs to be adjusted, rather than creating a new one from scratch each time.
I'm also providing another suggestion, even though this might be slightly off-topic from the main post. Still, concerning automations, it would be very useful if all created automations could be archived in separate folders (so that we can organize them more effectively for quicker access). Currently, all automations are displayed on a single screen with an ordering logic that I haven't quite figured out yet (possibly based on the most recent modification).
Thank you in advance for your support! Giovanni
Hello Giovanni De Giovanni, thank you for your detailed reply! I'm glad to announce that it is now possible to duplicate automation rules:
More details will be announced soon in a dedicated post.
Thank you everyone for sharing your support for this idea!
Hi Juan, many thanks for adding this feature!ย
With regard to my further input (that I copy below):

...Would you recommend to write it in a separate post, so that it can be evaluated?
Hey Giovanni De Giovanni, I'm jumping in for Juan here ๐ Yes, we'd recommend creating a separate post for this idea.
