Change Sort Order in Dashboard Widgets
I would love to be able to change the sort order in Dashboard Widgets from ASC to DESC. I have several widgets to manage my tasks ( based upon status ) and often want to see the oldest tasks for the given status instead of the newest.... seems like a super simple change to make.... ;-)
Hello,
With Custom Widget you can select the status you want and select Task : Overdue
In this way the oldest is on top :
The ability to display anything is descending order is missing in other places too, e.g. List View
Hey everyone, thank you for the suggestion and the discussion here! I'll flag this with the team.

Any word on being able to sort both Ascending and Descending in Widgets and Lists? I really want to be able to sort newest first on my project widget dashboard.
Adding my vote. I would prefer to be able to generally sort or manually sort.
Example user case is I have a widget showing a persons tasks. Right now New is at the top, then goes down list of priorities. I would prefer blockers, high priority is at the top and others. It would be helpful to sort the order how I would like them.
Or with a people view of names etc. Like how you can do it with Pivot table list. I can see how this is a coding challenge for the team and maybe a UI issue with discoverability.
Hi James Koch, thank you for adding your support for this suggestion here, and welcome to the Community 🙂
I've passed this on to the team. If there's anything else I can help with here don't hesitate to ask 👍

In support of this!
We have a completed projects section on our Dashboards and I normally need to get to the most recent ones... the current widget doesn't allow me to sort by: recently finished with the most recent on top.
Thanks!
Thank you for chiming in Sean Wright🙌🏼
Upvoted and chiming in--our team has long lists of tasks. It would save us considerable time to be able to sort showing most recent first.
Hi Long Ho, thank you for chiming in and adding your support🙌🏼
Upvote, and completely agree. Vehemently. I've been struggling with defining a few Dashboards this afternoon where we need to see tasks in DESC order by date completed. Ideally we'd also like to have the option to see the date completed in the Dashboard widget, vs. the due date (since these two dates are not the same).
Ultimate goal... we're trying to create a Manager dashboard that shows at a glance:
But we would like the Dashboard to indicate WHEN each task was completed and that doesn't currently seem possible. And the completed widgets show completed tasks in order by oldest first, which is the opposite of what we want.
I've tried every currently available sort order, and none of them give me a list in the desired date sort order of newest-oldest.
To add context... one thing we are trying to surface is, which tasks were completed on time (by the due date), and which ones were completed late (after the due date)? Ideally we'd also like the option to display both the due date and the completed date within the widget.
Hi Laura Boylan, thank you for sharing your feedback and use case in detail. I'm passing it on to our team👍🏼
Hi all. Upvoted. We need the basic ability to sort projects (in Project widget) by date created - so that the most recently added projects that filter into the Project Widget are at the top. Kind of surprised that that's not a standard option, or that tough to add. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for supporting this idea Fred Lunau, I will now pass your feedback to our team 👍

This request is nearly three years old, and Wrike hasn't had this feature since Wrike launched. Can we please get this basic function? Love Wrike, but does Wrike not love its customers? Please listen to us - we know what we need.
Hi Dave Cone, welcome to Community, it's great to see you here 🙂
Thanks so much for weighing in here, we've passed on your interest in this to the team. For context, our Product team look at how popular suggestions are here on Community by looking at their vote count. This suggestion's votes are on the lower side, which is why it has not been prioritized to date. This article has more info on how we work with Product feedback. Please be sure to upvote the original request if you have not already and if there are any updates to share here at any stage we'll be sure to let you know 👍

Hi all,
I add myself to the list. I really want to be able to sort tasks in dashboard widgets Asc/ Des for custom Widgets or pre-made ones as well.
Thanks
All, this functionality is already available in new dashboards that are in the Labs. They are supposed to replace classic ones eventually. I encourage everyone to give it a try and let us know what is good and what is not. It's still a work in progress, and we are refining them actively based on your feedback.

Vladimir Bugay im not seeing the sort by function on dashboard widgets in the new dashboards.... was this something that was pulled from it upon release? (or can you indicate where this function is?)
Vladimir Bugay sorry to clarify i see you can sort by Priority, Name, Due Date, or Location, but it doesnt let you choose asceneding or descending, even though the icon even shows the up/down arrows like you should be able to do that. Am i missing something? :(
Sarah, if you switch to the table (not list) mode, you can click on column headers and change the sorting order. Unfortunately, it's not possible to do that through the menu yet, and I'll take it as input for the team. Thank you!

It's frustrating to not be able to sort in widgets by date ascending or descending - this is such a basic function that exists in most platforms of any kind, and it's hard to understand why it's not in a project management platform specifically. "
Since the search function in Wrike is often also not helpful, I wanted to make a "completed tasks" widget so I can quickly refer to recently completed tasks when needed. But to have to scroll allllll the way down to the bottom every time is annoying, especially if I'm under deadline.
Vladimir Bugay I think there's a misunderstanding - we're all talking about being able to sort dashboard widgets by descending or ascending, NOT sorting tasks in projects (I already know we can do that). Thanks!
Erin, I'm sorry but I still don't understand what is an issue in your case. Can you please provide a specific example ideally with some screenshots demonstrating a problem? I'm asking because it's very easy to sort by any field ascending/descending as shown in the screenshot below.

Has this option been lost with the new widgets, or am I missing something?
Hello Jason Baxter, thank you for chiming in. In order to see a column among the sorting options, that option has to be toggled in the Fields section:
Is that what you were looking for?
