How do I unshare a folder that an ex-employee shared with me?

I am the Wrike admin for our company. I have a large number of users who have folders that were shared with them by former employees or by people that were moved to different teams.

I need to find out if there is a way at the user or Wrike Admin level to remove those unwanted folders.

Hi Chris, to avoid the orphaned folders it's best to transfer ownership upon deleting the user. Often times I as a Wrike admin will transfer data to myself for exiting/terminating employees, so that way I can clean up the folders.

If ownership wasn't transferred, you can have folks share the orphaned folders with you or walk them through deleting them.

Hope this helps.

I think I found what I needed by playing around with it.

Here are the steps I used.

  1. Click on the folder you want to remove from your Wrike workspace.
  2. In the top right, click on Shared.
  3. Find your name and click on the X next to it.
  4. Click on Save.
  5. Click on OK to confirm the removal.

I tired this and it removed a folder I no longer needed. Maybe this will help someone else down the line.

Thanks for your suggestions though, we will make that part of the exit process.

Sadly, this will not work on folders if you are the only person who has access to it.

Chris Hoch You can delete it if it was created by you, or archive it. To do this, you can create a folder for archiving work, name it "zArchive" so that it appears in the bottom of the folder tree, and move items you're not working on anymore there. Please let me know if that can help!
