Create easy way to go from project report to the tasks associated with a specific project
Hi,
I am looking to see if there could be a way to make it easier to go from a project report to the actual tasks associated with a project. The example I have is that I have started running a weekly project status report to manage and oversee the high-level work volume going through our dept, while this report is a big help and organizes our intake process it is limited to only seeing project status and then the job jacket or clipboard of the given project. There is no easy means of going deeper to get to the tasks of a specific project directly from the clipboard view when using this report.
Could there be a simple link to tasks added in the fields associated with the project information so that it is a simple streamlined process to go from project report directly to tasks of a given project?
Possibly even add an option into the 3-dots in the upper right to go directly to the full project?
Hey Spencer Turkot, thank you for the suggestion and the use case! It's been passed on to the Product team.
An easier way to get to a task list from that "clipboard" project-level view in general would be great. We have had folks end up on that view from other areas (a project based calendar for one example), think there were no connected tasks, and take action based on incomplete information. A little expandable section like there is when a task has sub-tasks would be fantastic.
I also found this older request here that might solve your problem too and added my support for it: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360019772373-Show-tasks-on-the-Project-Page?page=1#community_comment_1500000175581
Thank you for sharing your use-case and a link to a similar thread here Katie Wilborn , that's really helpful 🙌

Chiming in here to vote for this. We love Wrike's reporting features, but it's very frustrating to only be able to view the project info (clipboard) from the report. If you could quickly click into the project and view the tasks, that would make things SO much more efficient for those who are using reports to manage projects.
Hi Emma Melville, thank you for sharing your feedback here! Please be sure to upvote the original post if you haven't yet 👍🏼
In preparing to upvote this thread (and many other similar ones) I discovered a way to achieve this in one click. I suspect this is an unintended solution, rather than a planned improvement, since Wrike staff have not mentioned it in any of the solutions I have seen. I still consider a direct link either from the project row or the project info page to be the ideal and preferred solution from a UI perspective.
When in the project view of a report, under normal circumstances, clicking on the View Details icon next to any particular project will open the project info page overview, but provides no easy way to navigate from that view to the project summary with associated tasks. If you right-click (or control-click on a Mac) on that same icon and open in a new tab, the same Project Summary overview page displays, but closing that splash page and keeping the tab open reveals the project tasks in the default view. I believe this workaround also shows that the desired request is innately achievable with a separate "Navigate to project tasks" icon.
Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for sharing this info here on the Community, Steve Pragel 🤗 I'm sure it can be useful to everyone who's participated in the discussion here!

I went to test it out the shortcut Steve Pragel pointed out as soon as I got a chance. Unfortunately it doesn't work in the wrike desktop app (on a mac at least) 😞 but if you're primarily in a browser or can remember to switch when you want to get into a report it's a good tip! Thanks Steve!
Steve Pragel Wow, shout out to you for a clever workaround! I never would have thought to try right-clicking the project icon on a report to open in a new tab to get to the project tasks behind the "clipboard" view. Thank you for solving this issue for me! 🙌
