[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Dashboard Drag-n-Drop for Non-Status Differences
Dashboards have a wonderful functionality to be able to drag and drop tasks between widgets to change statuses. Unfortunately, it only works for status differences.
I would like to be able to drag and drop between two widgets that are configured the same with only one difference. I.E. they both are looking at active tasks in the Personal folder but one has a filter for a custom field being checked and the other has a filter for the custom field being unchecked. Or they both are looking at active tasks assigned to the current user but one is filtered to Folder A and the other is filtered to Folder B.
In those two examples dragging tasks between the two widgets would toggle the custom field or move the task between the two folders, respectively.
Of course there are some filters that wouldn't work like Last Modified Date, Created Date, etc., but filters on fields that can be changed would be wonderful candidates for drag-n-drop changes.

Currently, you can drag-and-drop to change:
• Status
• Assignee
• Folder
• Importance
Those operations are only possible when the change is obvious - you wouldn't be able to dnd task to a widget that is filtered to show tasks with several statuses.
When the two widgets are looking at active tasks assigned to the current user but one is filtered to Folder A and the other is filtered to Folder B, you should be able to dnd already.
As for the Custom Fields, our Product team is planning to investigate in the coming weeks 👍

To give my specific use case for the custom field changes, I have two widgets that are filtered to all active tasks assigned to the current user, and one also filters on a private custom checkbox field being checked while the other filters the field to be unchecked. I had to briefly add a specific folder to the widget to setup the custom field filter, but removed it so the widgets would get any task assigned to me regardless of folders. This is my way of doing on a dashboard what the labs version of the My Work tab does with only two categories, work to do now and work to do later.

I discussed with the team, and from what I understand, they have plans for what you're suggesting, but to do that, a lot of work needs to be done beforehand. Your use-case really helped the team understand this, and as I said, they have such plans. At the same time, it won't be a quick thing, so the Backburner status is still the most accurate. I'll let you know when I know more.

I was speaking to the Product team about this and they said that while they are interested in this, it won't be implemented for another while. That's why the status of this will remain as "Backburner". I'll keep you posted on any updates. 😊
Add to this the ability to automatically refresh the widget when one of its filtered custom fields changes value....
I'm saddened to see that this feature has not yet been implemented. Is there any update since 2019?
