[Suggestion] Filter tasks and view based on project owner

 Hi,

It would be great if you could use the field "Owners" in a project for filtering tasks and views in Wrike.

As I now have set myself as "Owner" of this project, it would be great to have this field available in the filter in for example Gantt Chart and dashboard widgets.

Yes - this would be very helpful for project manager dashboards!

We'd like to have widgets to monitor tasks in our projects to make sure people are meeting deadlines -- but we'd like to filter to only monitor tasks in our own projects.

For us as an enterprise that works on a lot of projects one of the key pieces of information about every task is who the project manager is. We need to be able to filter tasks based on this information both in reports and dashboards for a lot of different reasons. It would be good if tasks could inherit this information from the project owner field in the parent project. For us, the project manager is distinct from the project creator for two reasons one because a project administrator actually creates projects from blueprints, and two because projects can be handed of from PM to PM from time to time.

Hi everyone, thank you for the feedback, it's passed to the Product team!

For now, would a Custom Field for owners work as a workaround?

Hi Lisa - using a custom field on the tasks is not a feasible solution for us since it would take a manual update for each task for each project that is made. And since we can't mass update custom fields on tasks - it really makes that option not really an option for us. (To be clear - I wouldn't prefer being able to mass update the custom field on the tasks anyway since that would still be annoying to have to do when setting up every new project.)

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback. We are still passing this on to our Product team.

One possible workaround for now could be sorting by assignee. This way, all of a user's tasks/projects on the Gantt Chart could be grouped together and easier to access.

Let me know if this helps! If you have any other questions let me know 😊

Hi, was any progress made on this at all? This would be really beneficial for our company but again doesn't seem to be possible.

Thanks!

Hi Alex Bower, welcome to the Community and thank you for posting. May I ask if filtering by project owner on the Space level can help with your use case? Here I'm viewing a space and using the Table View.

Hi Cansu! Unfortunately, we dont appear to have this filter option (i guess this is maybe something the admin controls). But i think this may help if it is possible to enable this.

Sure Alex Bower 🙂 When configuring a dashboard, you should be able to choose the widget called "Active Tasks by Assignee":

Could you let me know if you can see such an option?
