Table view vs. list view of custom fields

If I edit the custom fields that are visible in the table view, why are they not mirrored in the list view? I have a feeling this might have to do with whether something is a folder or a project?

Since I just realised to my community a Request Form with many connected custom fields to be reviewed, your post scared me !

I run to verify if it is so, and luckily is is not happening for us.

Either you did not tab outside of the custom field in to the next one to save it before living the table view, or maybe this is a bug happening with some particular Browser version !!

Cheers, L.

This is happening to me as well. When I change the fields in the folders/projects/tasks on table view, it doesn't change it in the list view where the custom fields are.

Hey @Kati, welcome to the Community, happy to see you here 🙂

Can you please provide more detail - the fields aren't updated in the task, project, or folder information panels?

Hi I am also experiencing this. I uncheck a field in the top left Table view settings but the field still appears in the List view of a task in the  folder

Any solution to this?

Unchecking custom fields from the Table View will hide these columns from the Table, but it will still be applied to all of the tasks in that space. If you want to remove a custom field from your tasks, right click on the title of the custom field column and select "Edit custom field". Here, you will be able to choose whether or not this field will be applied to the tasks in the project/folder. This will ensure that the field doesn't appear in your tasks.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Four years later and this still does not work.  This is frustrating.  Whatever is in the Table view should be reflected in the List view. Thank you!
