Selective folders in dashboard widgets

Hi! Is it possible to set up a dashboard widget that includes ALL folders MINUS one or some? (e.g., exclude a "personal tasks" folder from everything else, which is work-related)? Thanks!

Hi John! Welcome to the forums 🙌. There isn't a way to set up a Dashboard and have it exclude a particular Folder. It is a request that's been brought up in the forums though. If you could add a + to Jared's post that will let our Product Team know that you're interested in that functionality.

Hi John,

For now a quick work around that would require a little bit of effort would be to create a folder and call it whatever you want. For now I will call it Dashboard Folder. Then you can add this folder tag to any folder you want. Once this is done you can then create the dash board using the Dashboard Folder and add all Subfolders. This should get you what you want.

Hope this helps.

@Ryan Coming in with the save there (or at least a workaround 😉)

This solution nearly got me fired. I went to add a major folder to the 'dashboard' folder, Wrike began counting up and up and up thousand of records marked... when it was done, the folder disappeared from the root of the folder tree, along with all of the others, placing them within the dashboard folder. this was too much for department heads to handle, as it also placed their permissions in jeopardy because they were being adopted from the dashboard folder. This is not a solution.

@Joey, did you move your folders to the Dashboard folder or did you add the folder tag to the folders you wanted to add to your Dashboard folder?

There is a major difference, and by the sounds of it you moved the folders to your Dashboard folder. You would want to add a folder tag to the folders you desire to make a dashboard.

If you added a folder tag to the major folder then it should not have impacted anything that was already exisiting.

Adding a folder tag to a root level folder that has no other tags, *moves* it to that folder.

Only for the person that creates the new folder. If the new folder is not shared with anyone else then it should have no impact on others folder trees.
