[From Wrike] Save External Respondentโs Info to Custom Fields ๐
รpinglรฉe En avantHi everyone! ๐
Today, we're very excited to announce a new feature that enhances the way you collect and manage information from external request forms: itโs now possible to save the external form submittersโ info in custom fields! ๐
Previously, while you could ask for the name and email of external request form submitters, this information could only be saved to the task description. Additionally, the text asking for this information was fixed and couldnโt be customized to fit your specific needs.
Weโve made some exciting updates to improve this functionality:
- Customizable Contact Info Page: When the "Require respondentโs name and email" checkbox is selected, a special "Contact Info Page" will now appear as the first page in the form, containing two customizable questions.
- Customizable Names and Descriptions: You can now customize the names and descriptions of these questions to better suit your needs.
- Save to Custom Fields: The answers to these questions can be saved to text-type Custom Fields in addition to titles and descriptions). This enhancement allows you to filter and report on this data more effectively.
This has been a popular ask from our Community members, and we thank you for your interest and feedback ๐ค
We hope these updates make managing external request forms easier and more flexible for you! Let us know your feedback and questions below ๐

Thank you so much for this feature! We immediately updated our custom fields to link to this and have already implemented this through reports. We appreciate how Wrike is listening to feedback!
Super useful!
Email saved in custom field, in the future, can be used to send automatic message to requester?
Yay!
This is excellent!ย This will save us having to ask for the contact info twice! Thank you :)ย
I've just updated one of our forms now however one issue is that some of our forms are completed by external users via the public link as well as Wrike users via the Wrike request form menu.ย this means that their details will not be linked to custom fields. Would be awesome to have the option to include certain questions t as part of the form for internal users and excluded from the public link.ย Other than this it's a great addition!
Great update! The ability to see submitter information in a table view is super useful for our team.ย
Can this contact info page be used for populating Guest Review contacts?
This is still a duplicate question for us. As part of this request form, we ask for the requestor's name, which is mapped to a custom field. This is important whether it's a Wrike user who filled out the form or not. I wish there was the ability to NOT ask the name again as part of the contact info.ย
Hi everyone! Thanks for your feedback and further suggestions for this feature, I'll share them with our team ๐
Laura Walz You can choose not to check the "Require respondent's name and email" box.ย

Once mapped to custom fields, are the name and email editable? For example, a user may include a type in their email and need a Wrike user to update. Is this possible?
Kristen Diegert It is possible (at least when I have been trying it!) Now that it is mapped to a custom field, you can go in and edit the spelling, etc.
THANK YOU! So happy to not ask for the name twice and to have it show in the Table view!
One piece of feedback, is please let us move this page to somewhere else in the form!
Thanks for the feedback Meraka Moulton ๐
