Automatically identify which Request Form a task came from

Hello Wrike Community,

I would like to see Wrike add an identifier to every request-form-generated task so that the form that spawned the task can be identified. This could be a link somewhere in the header of the task that takes you directly to the request form, just the name of the form pasted somewhere on the task, or something similar.

I understand that this could be accomplished in some way using blueprints, but so many different people in my company are creating request forms that it would be much simpler if Wrike did this automatically. (Standardization is tough.)

My use case is this -- a fellow employee or external sales partner sends me a link to a task or most often just a screen shot or a vague description, along with a request to update or alter the request form. At this point I have to go on a wild goose chase through the over 200 forms used by the several facilities of my nationwide company. With a link or screenshot I can at least use the workspace to give me a hint, among other things, but it would be much simpler and faster to just click on a link that takes me straight to the request form.

Are there others out there that have encountered this same problem who have developed an easy workaround?

Thank you,

Michelle

Hi Michelle, thanks a lot for posting this very interesting suggestion!

I could think of some workarounds - you could create a required checkbox type of question where someone who needs to submit it would need to check the box next to the form's title. Another option would be to create different folders where tasks/projects that are created upon submission will live and to have the same titles for request forms and those folders. Do you think that could work for you?

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your response! I really like the idea of having an extra folder (aside from and in addition to the regular task workflow) named for each request form that would collect tasks and projects created upon submission -- like a carbon copy in a special file folder. I could make a special space for this where I could search for tasks that needed to be altered. The checkbox idea could work but seems redundant when filling out the form. But in that same vein, maybe I could add the name of the form into some helper text that would automatically show up in the info text of the task? Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that before. Thank you! I'll have to explore this...

Great to hear that at least one of the suggestions could work for you. I'm afraid that helper text will not be transferred to the task/project created after form submission though.

Haha, you're right! I meant the info text, not the helper text. The wording of the actual question -- it could clue you in to which form you were filling out.

Yes, that could work as well Michelle! Your suggestion is with our Product team now, but please share if any workarounds worked for your team specifically - it would be good to know!
