How to Auto Populate Schedules on Projects?
Hi!
After we add a set blueprint (with task durations) to a project. Is there a way to auto-populate a schedule by either entering the starting date (first task) or the due date (Last task)?
I would love any tips on automation for project schedules.
Help!
HI Lea Labastida, of course but you need to add dates to tasks. Without dates it doesn't work.
Then you can clic on enable rollup, in table view on Start and Due date
Then when you activate a blueprint just select Start or Due Date for the project, in popup and all your task will be scheduled from or to these dates.
Pietro Poli I don't think I explained myself right. Once, I load the blueprint, let's say with 6 tasks. If I put the start date on the first task, I would like it to populate the remaining task based on that start date and the duration of the remaining tasks. Like a waterfall auto-population.
I have clicked on Rolled up but nothing happens. I've searched for video tutorials on this feature and have not found anything.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Lea Labastida, blueprint is the correct way.
Have you setup all tasks dates in blueprint? Or have you inserted some dependencies?
If you do one of the two setup I suggested when you create a project from a blueprint you can choice start or due date and project auto populate dates =)
Pietro Poli Here is a blueprint for example. I have the duration on the blueprints. Is this what you meant?
I don't have dependencies. If I do would that help me to get them to auto populate?
Hi Lea Labastida, add also start and due dates.
And when you create from Blueprint dates will be aligned automatically.
Pietro Poli I will try this. The dependencies has made a different. Thank you so much for your help!
