Sending Notifications or email to many users on Completion of Task in a Folder
I would like to send a notification – like an email on task closure. Are there any recommended ways of doing this?
I spoke with my colleagues and they said there are a number of ways of doing this. I was going to setup standard notifications but I found that I can see the button I guess is because I am admin.
The user case is right now we manage the work via a Wrike Task. Once complete we then send an email to a lot of people to say complete. At the most basic that seems wrong to me and we were going to write what we had in the email at the top of the task.
We have some wrike users and some non-users on the email chain but can give non-users a free license and I would assume they would get an email notification as well.
My guess is that this an automate feature request? If I used correctly.
The Wrike way would be setup some kind of calendar/dashboard and I could say go on there to let people know.
Or should I do a mass “@” on release? That would trigger notifications.
James Koch we make it via automation.
I would set up an automation rule, that for a specific folder if a task changes to close (or what status ever) the automation makes an @-mention in the chat for everybody you want. To make that easy I would make a group in Wrike e.g. "Users to notify" and then let the automation send the @-mention to this group. So you are very flexible if group members change and you have the whole communication documented in Wrike.
If you have users working completly in Wrike they can turn of their mail notifications, so they see their messages in Wrike inbox and not in their mail programm. Users who only use Wrike sporadic I would recommend to turn on the mail notification if somebody @-mentions them. So they will get an automated message about the mention. And all non Wrike members you can add via the collaborator license.
This is also a very good way to get more and more users in Wrike, when they see that it works well.

Thanks for the prompt response. I was seeing if anyone bites. I will give it a try with the team to see if they want to work in the Wrike way.
