Create Requests via the Gmail Widget

Hi There

We use the Gmail widget a lot, as the majority of our work arrives via email. We have also been using the request feature to create projects from temples.

It would be really cool if we could create tasks and projects using the request feature from the gmail widget.

Hi all, this is a great idea. Just so our Product Team, and other members, understand it fully could you please provide a use case or example of what this might look like, and how you'd use it, please?

Also, I want to mention that yesterday we released the Gmail Add-on named Wrike for Gmail which I think will interest you all considering you use the Gmail Widget 😀

Would really like to hear your feedback on Wrike for Gmail and some details around the above use case. Thanks again for your posts!

Thanks Stephen

An example of where we would use this is the processing of various land related applications. The application is received via email, a project with tasks and a number of subtasks is created by creating a project from a temple using the request feature (the process involves a number of steps  which are done by different team members). The email  is sent to the main task to attached the application document and any notes within the text of the email.

We prefer to use request forms to process our work into wrike as is provides a higher degree of quality control and consistency and is much easier than duplicating tasks/projects. Its also easier to manage the "templates" as they dont need to be visible to everyone one the account, which reduces potential for accidental changes or deletion.

At the moment we can only create project via template, we would love to be able to create tasks from a template.

I have had a quick look at the new Gmail integration, at the moment i prefer the widget as you can add the task to a folder and set the due date.

Cheers Scott

Thanks for coming back with more detail Scott. I now totally understand how you're working at the moment. The Wrike for Gmail add-in will have new developments in the future so I will keep you updated on them here or you can always keep an eye on the Release News section. I'll also make sure that our Product Team are aware of this post. Thanks again for sharing 🙂
