It was advised not to create a bunch of sub task so we added check boxes in the description. I am wasting a user license on these outside collaborators. Can there be a way for checkboxes to be used and collaborators can check them off.

why not have them checkoff the checkboxes and then have them make a comment that they completed it, so you get notified.
Why not use subtasks like they were designed? Why did they advise not to use them?
Hi Brad and thanks for your feedback here. It would be useful to hear generally about the collaboration you're looking to achieve here so I can understand your setup a little better.
[Edit] Collaborators are unable to edit the description field, including using checkboxes so this would not be a possibility here.
You can have an unlimited amount of Collaborators so don't worry about your licensed seats when adding this user type. @Gianni and @Jonathan, thanks for your input here.
Hi, I'm running into this issue too. Is there any way to allow collaborators to check off boxes in the task description? I have a project where the team has used check boxes as reminders for what goes into a certain task as an aid for new staff.

I'm a collaborator and I really want to be able to add checkboxes as I know what I need to come back and finish off. At moment I have to keep track outside of Wrike where I can track easier but I'd rather have everything in the same system.

Same as Tracy B above Lisa. This would be incredibly beneficial for our team to be able to check these off in one task vs having to create many tasks to track.

Would also like to be able to hide the completed checklist items rather than having to manually move them to the bottom in the list or somewhere else out of the way
