Allocated Hours - Sum All Task Allocated Hours

We are working significantly with Wrike API (great API) however we are running into an issue where there is no way to pull the summation of all allocated hours at the project level. If Wrike could create a summation field (at the database backend level) that is a sum of all allocated hours for a project and allows customers to pull that from the API it would be incredibly useful to us. My guess is that I will be the only one to request this but we are pushing the limits of the Wrike API and have integrated Wrike with our CRM solution and could provide some valuable feedback to Wrike in this area. This would be incredibly useful to us going forward and would appreciate any insight on the matter. Awesome product, awesome support team, awesome company....

Hi Ryan, thanks for posting this! It makes total sense but I'd love to hear more about your current approach. Do you query tasks from a Project individually to sum up the values of Allocated Hours? Also if you meant the limit of 100 requests per minute - could you specify what kind of volumes you're working with typically?

I wonder about the summary in projects. If I make a task including 2 people and they work with a project for 2 days, and I put in 3 allocated hours, the sum of this would be 2 people x 2 days x 3 hours = 12 hours. But it doesn't summarize this way and I wonder why? I seems it only summarize one person, one day and my allocated hours (3).

Hi Jennie, sorry for taking a while to reply here! You're right about the current logic showing the sums like that. Right now the allocation assigned for a task is shown, but it doesn't multiply for assignees. We're working on improving the resource allocation experience, and this is something I've passed as feedback to our team. Thanks for writing this up here!

I don't think Wrike understanding how scheduling works. The Summary Task needs to show a roll-up of the subtasks, and the hours worked as a whole needs to be recorded. I have yet to find a solution for this, and this may be make-or-break for me using this application.

has anyone done API integration with Workday?  That is our system of record for project budget actuals and we would like to pull data into WRIKE for WRIKE Analyze reporting against the WRIKE budget forecast.
