[Status: Launched! 🚀] Shared Reports

Hi Jessica! Thanks for your contribution here, this is a great idea and I wanted to let you know that there's an existing post with a similar request revolving around sharing/exporting/editing Report: Reports Permissions. It would be great to have your vote and comment there too, so similar ideas could be discussed in one place :) I'll close this post for comments now, but I'll be happy to continue the conversation in the original post!

It would be incredibly useful for our team if users who have a report shared with them could generate a snapshot of the report. Those who have had a report shared with them can export the report to excel. However, only the creator of the report can create snapshots. We use the snapshot link to email reports externally, and it is a hassle to have only one account with access to the report snapshots. Our workaround has been to create an "admin" account that no-one owns, but is used almost exclusively for report snapshot creation.

It would be very helpful if all Administrator's could edit reports regardless if they have created them or not. Part of Wrike's capabilities are to allow team's that may not be in the same location to work collaboratively. I believe adding this feature would be helpful for the Wrike community. 

I agree whole-heartedly with Marcus' idea!  I would *think* this could be a quick(er) solution than the whole report restructuring that I know Wrike is having issues in putting together.  Please consider this as an option!! 😁😁

It would be really helpful to give all admins the option to edit a report, regardless if they are the creator or not. I maintain all the reports but I'm not always the creator and it's kind of a pain.

This is an essential need as we have marketing project managers that all utilize a couple of reports for capacity planning and if there are adjustments to the reports that need to be made, they have to send a note to me to update the report rather than just being able to take care of that themselves. If I'm out of the office, they have to wait or recreate their own, which aside from being a waste of time, can create inconsistencies.

This is essential.  When a PM leaves their role, we can't take over their reports - we have to rebuild from scratch if we need even the tiniest change.  HUH???

This is an important need as we share reports often and multiple people within the org need to edit the same report.  Could you give us an update on where it is in the development queue?  Thanks

Our Product team understands the demand here and this suggestion is on their radar. The issue is that you can see all tasks/projects in a Report once it's shared with you, even if some tasks/projects are not shared with you. This is why adding the possibility to edit a shared Report needs to be researched, as it might have unpredicted consequences. 

I'll keep you updated with any news that I have on this suggestion.

I agree - having the ability to allow users who I've shared a report with to also share the report with others would be a huge help to my team.

Hello! 

Any update on when other users apart from the one that created the report can edit it? This is having a big impact also for our organization including when it comes to backup colleagues vacation for example. It is important that the person that creates the report can share and define "editing" rights with others.

Hi @..., I was just trying to figure out how others could edit my reports and landed on this page. I agree it would be very helpful if I could allow others to edit my reports, otherwise I become a bottleneck and can't have a backup solution when needed. The Product team are interested in this suggestion, but there are currently no plans to implement it into Wrike. For that reason, this post has been given the status of "Backburner". Rest assured that all of your feedback has been shared with the team, and if there are any changes here, I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Going to just continue to echo the sentiments in a number of other places... the reporting modules are head scratching with what they can and cannot. Wrike Analyze is clunky and slow, so not a great alternative. 

This is a really basic functionality of reporting

At the very least, you have to allow us to transfer ownership of reports within Wrike and not have to talk to the help team each time. Most companies have people who build reports for others. It is a huge pain to have to talk to Wrike support each team we need to transfer these.

Our team desperately needs the ability to edit reports created by other team members, I agree that the Google concept of read/write permissions would be great. When I went on maternity leave, team members had to rebuild the work I had done, and now to catch back up, I need to access all their reports and rebuild them for myself once more. HEEEEELLLLLP

Full support to Shannon's comment. We had a similar problem recently and we had to spend time rebuilding reports... Does not make much sense and major inconvenience.

The ability to share reports is essential. At a minimum, you could make it easier to see what filters or criteria are applied on someone else's report so someone could rebuild it on their own - seems like this could be a quick short term solution while you explore the ability to full share reports. We really just need the ability to collaborate on reports fully but an interim solution seems warranted given the number of inquiries on this thread alone. 

I'm a consultant that supports a number of teams and I sometimes build sample reports. Not being able provide those teams edit access to reports is a real time sink and a duplicate of effort, since they have to recreate them if they want to update them in any way. Would love to see this as a new feature.

I've noticed this now as well. I have team members, unfortunately, exporting data out of reports into Microsoft Excel so that they can manipulate data or even save an instance of the report. Without permissions or being the original creator of the report one can't even save a snap shot. Very unfortunate indeed!
