[Status: Launched ๐] Export project's planning (Timeline) as a PDF file instead of a blurry PNG image
TerminรฉeCurrently when you want to export a projet timeline you got only two options : PNG - a blurry low resolution image, or Excel - without the GANTT planning view.
During meetings with customers or partners, we are currently using an other planning tool that give us the ability to export event big planning timelines (3-4-5 months) as a PDF file with perfect quality for the screen and for printing.
Usually for theses meetings we sent the planning by email before and then print it on A3 size paper several copies, everybody participants have one and can take notes on it.
As open source PDF export framework are existing, too bad that Wrike doesn't provide this feature yet.
Regards
Julien
I'm testing Wrike at the moment and was very astonished a PDF export of a timeline is not possible. I think this is a killer feature...
We also need this feature, so really hope it can be implemented ASAP.
I have usedย https://wkhtmltopdf.org/ for such things in my applications sucessfully. Maybe usfull too for wrike?
+1 for this request.ย
+1.ย
Hi,ย
+1 for the feature.ย
Same as everybody else I need to export clean PDF of the project timelines for my meetings. This is basic feature and paying for a professional account without having that option is really annoying.
Looking forward to a fix. Thanks.

I found this:https://www.wrike.com/blog/now-wrike-users-can-easily-print-a-timeline/
but not sure how this feature worked - any help or explanation?
ย
+1, we need this feature urgently
we also need this feature
@Jimmy An, this is an older blog article referring to the old Timeline. Our Product Team is working on releasing Timelineย printing soon. I'll keep this thread in mind for when that's available, or you can follow Release News sectionย for weekly release updates ๐
Hi, any good updated news here regarding ability to print pdf?
Add +1 here on the request!ย
It's so disappointing to have such an awesome project manager software like Wrike be perceived as insufficient with non Wrike users because we can't print a good Gantt Chart out of it to show to clients or discuss internally (while limited capabilities Microsoft Project can).
Thanks,
Hi Nara, this is something our Product Team is looking at as priority but we have no concrete dates to share. As soon as we do I'll be sure to update this thread. Thank you for bumping the post! ๐
+1 for this request.ย Having cut/paste multiple screen shots is a weak solution to visualise a complete complex timeline.
+1 for this request !
+1 for Julian request - would be great to be able to export to PDF.
ย
+1 for this request !
@Everyone I'm so excited to let you guys know that the Timeline is now printed as a PDF file! All of your feedback helped bring this about,ย thank you and let us know what you think ๐
@Stephanie Westbrook - Many thanks for giving us the good news about this muchly anticipated functionality. I assume that the function will be switched on in a standard release? How are we to be able to download - at the moment I cannot see it.
ย
Stephanie - please ignore I have figured it out - embarrassingly rather simple...
ย
@Stephanie Westbrook - Many thanks for the update, good to see this function appear. Some feedback for features needed to make this more useful:ย
ย
ย
@Andrew Glad you got it!
For anyone else who's wondering, when you print, a pop-up will appear where you can click to download the pdf. The new Timeline has already been fully released to everyone, so you can start using it now!
@Rob Thank you, I'm passing all of your feedback on to the Product Team. At the moment, what's visible on the timeline portion of the view is what's printed, so you can adjust filters to change the date range for example (or remove some tasks from the view).ย
@Stephanie - As you say theย print range is set by tasks that are visible, but if there are long task titles then they go beyond the edge of theย printed area and are missed off the print area (in particular later tasks).ย It would be better to have some manual range or print preview settings.
ย
Thanks,
ย
Rob.
This is a great addition, but few comments:
- The print cuts off some text to the right of the last several tasks if the names are long (like what Rob is saying)
- It prints out all the tasks expanded, but I'd like to print out a view showing the tasks collapsed. This will be easier for top level mgmt to see a higher level view of the project timeline. Is there a way to do this?
ย
It's 2019 and you cannot export into a PDF. How is this possible? We need more tools that are flexible and available to show clients. Internal project management is important but we are transparent with our workflow. We need to be able to export the TABLE into a PDF. Looks like a lot of people are requesting this feature. Is this in the works?
@Jeffrey, Thanks for reaching out here. Table printing is not on the short-term roadmap, I'll update this thread when I have news.ย
