AI Subtask Creation
AI Subtask Creation is an experimental feature that can be enabled from Wrike Labs by any user for their individual Wrike account. This is an experimental feature and as a result, it: may have bugs, is subject to change, and may be discontinued at any time. Please feel free to use the feedback links in Wrike Labs to share your thoughts on this beta feature.
Enabling AI subtask creation allows you to create subtasks simply by highlighting text in any task description, the subtasks are created as children of the original task. Subtasks can be created either according to a simple in-line rule or by AI assessing the sentences which appear to be actionable tasks in your description.
The subtasks created always have an active status and are otherwise blank (no assignees, due dates, description, attachments, etc.).
Where a subtask is created, the original text will become a hyperlink inside your task description. If you delete this hyperlink the subtask itself will not be deleted. To delete a subtask created in this way right-click its title under the task header and select Delete.
The simplest way to use this feature to create subtasks does not involve AI. Using this method will simply create a subtask from each line of text you have highlighted in a task description, regardless of its length or the words included. This method of subtask creation works with any language.
Highlight the lines of text that you wish to turn into subtasks.
Select the Create subtasks icon in the menu that appears to the left of the highlighted text.
Each line of text that was selected will be created as a separate subtask. The text itself is converted into hyperlinks to each subtask. To undo this action you can click Undo. This option will appear at the top of the task description and is only available for 10 seconds or until another update is made to the task description.
This feature uses natural language processing to select which parts of your task description are actionable tasks. It then creates subtasks from these sections of text. This method of subtask creation currently works with English language text only.
AI subtask creation will focus on phrases starting with a root verb, for example, the phrase Manage the things will be recognized as an actionable task, whereas Managing the things will not. In addition, AI subtask creation takes into account your structure and punctuation. The phrase Manage the things and count the numbers will be converted into one subtask, but Manage the things. Count the numbers. will be converted into two.
Highlight the text that you wish to scan for subtasks.
Select the Scan the description and let our AI create subtasks icon in the menu that appears to the left of the highlighted text.
Sections of text which are recognized as actionable tasks will be created as subtasks. The text itself is converted into hyperlinks to each subtask. To undo this action you can click Undo. This option will appear at the top of the task description and is only available for 10 seconds or until another update is made to the task description.
