What's New in Wrike - July 2024

Our July edition of What's New in Wrike covers updates to Request forms, New Dashboards, User custom fields, and more.

Request forms - Constraints for Date-Type Fields

Request forms are available on accounts starting from Team and consist of two parts: the request form builder, which admins use to create and manage request forms, and submission forms, which allow all users and, optionally, non-Wrike users to submit requests.

With this update, request form creators can now set constraints that only allow the entry of dates that are X or more days later than the form submission date. In practical terms, this means when someone fills out a form, they won't be able to pick dates (for example, a due date) that are earlier than what the form creator has designated.

Request forms - Reschedule Around a Blueprint Task

We’ve also introduced a new option that will help you streamline your items created via request forms. Now, when you create a project or task from a blueprint via request form, you can reschedule your item around a specific task or subtask.

To do this, select Reschedule around in the request builder you need and then choose the relevant option: Parent’s task start date, Subtask’s start date, or other.

Below this option, you will need to select the relevant item by clicking on the +Item button, which will allow you to search for it.

Please note that this option works only if a Date type question in your request form is mapped to Start or Due date.

This enhancement works similarly to the option of rescheduling around a specific task when creating an item from a blueprint.

New Dashboards - Use Sections to Organize Your Widgets

New Dashboards are available for all users except collaborators on all paid plans.

A new option to better organize your New Dashboards widgets - Sections - is here. The functionality can be found in the Dashboards toolbar, at the top, and allows you to create sections to group all related widgets.

To access it, click on the +Section button:

Select a name for your new section, and then hit Create.

To add a existing widgets to the relevant section, you only need to click on the three-dot menu of the widget, then select Copy to section and choose the desired option:

This option is helpful when several widgets are grouped under a single Dashboard. An additional benefit of using Sections is a better performance: by loading only the relevant widgets, the data is loaded faster.

New Dashboards - Preconfigure Drill-Down For Others

When you drill down into charts and configure columns and their sorting order there, those changes are now preserved on a per-widget basis, helping you save time and effort.

Dashboard creators may configure them and save changes, and other users who access them will see preconfigured drill-down views.

User Custom Fields - Mass updates and Self-Assign Added

Available on Business and higher plans in Wrike Labs.

Admins can now use mass actions in the Users tab to bulk update multiple fields for multiple users at once.

Also, we’ve introduced the ability for users to self-assign existing fields to themselves via their Profile settings.

This ability is controlled by permissions in the User types tab and can be turned off if needed.

Please note that User Custom Fields are currently available in Wrike Labs. Find more information on this feature in this Community post.

Spaces - Choose a Space Tool as Default Page

Available to Business and higher plans.

This addition allows you to set any space tool as the default page when opening the relevant Space.

To select the desired tool as default for the Space, click on the three-dot menu next to the name of the tool and select the option Set as space default.

This way, every time a user opens the space, the first thing they will see will be a Dashboard, a Calendar, a Report or a Workload chart of your preference.

These settings will also apply when you invite a new user to your account if you select the corresponding space.
