Set the notification to appear on the inbox - Templates
When I create a template with pre-defined assignees, theese people get no notificiation on the inbox. How can I make these notifications to pop in the inbox on the moment I create the template?
Hi Gabriel Torres, thank you for reaching out 🙌
Have you considered trying Blueprints for this? They are templates for creating new work items. You create a task, folder, or project blueprint, and then can easily create new versions of this work item with any relevant changes. It's possible to notify assignees when you launch tasks from a blueprint 👍
Please let me know if you have any questions on blueprints, I'll be happy to discuss!

Hi Lisa,
I thought Blueprints were getting phased out and that's why there's a push for templates? Are blueprints here to stay? 🏆
Hello Lisa!
The reason our team uses templates is because we create the steps of the projects inside the main project. In order for you tu visualize it, we have a project with the name of our client, and each step of the project comes with a new project (inside the project of the client). Inside those steps (projects) we have the tasks.
If we use blueprint, we would have to choose the place all the time, and this is not what we want. Can't you guys develop the notification system to the templates?
Hi Gabriel,
Have you tried to set up an automation for every time a new template is created, it would @ mention those you want to be notified? This would help create a notification for them in their inbox.
Hope this helps!
Hello, Kyrstan Mckay!
How can I do that?
Hi Gabriel,,
You go to settings > Automation > +New Rule. Then you will have it apply to the space your using and apply it to task (if that is how your set up). Then your trigger would be under the other section labeled new task is created. Then you add the action to "add comment or mention". Here you can specifically call out who you want it to @ mention or you can select to mention assignees.
Hope this helps!
Hi Daniel Garcia, please allow me to jump in for Lisa. We consider Work Templates the next generation of the blueprint functionality which allows more customization of your repetitive work. You can find more information on Work Templates vs Blueprints in this Community post.
