Auto-generate future dates on same task

We have tasks/projects that we work on annually around the same time each year and would like these to populate dates for the following year after it's complete. We do not want to set up a recurrence, as we would like the information from previous years to carry over. We also do not want the task or project to appear on any to-do lists for the entire calendar year while it's inactive, but instead, appear on a to-do list on or near the start date. Is this possible? Any suggestions?

Hi Carley Suemnicht, welcome to the Community! 👋

Some of it is possible via Wrike's Automation. For example, you can set up an automation rule that will change a task's status from completed to active when the due date is approaching. If this sounds helpful, please check out the article on automation. In this case, you can create one task that would be carried over to the next year, complete it when it's time, and then put in a new due date for the next year and set up an automation rule to change the status back to active when the due date is approaching.

Please let me know if that helps!

I have found the automation has really helped our team for tasks that might have to be processed this same way. Good luck!
