Scroll Bars on Gantt Chart
Please add scroll bars to the Gantt Chart view.
A horizontal scroll bar exists for Workload charts, but not Gantt charts. These are both timeline based layouts, and it makes no sense that there is no scroll bar for the Gantt chart.
The biggest issue with not having scroll bars is that you have to click and drag with the house on the Gantt chart itself to scroll it. You also click and drag to set or move dates on tasks so there is an overlap of functionality. I have accidentally assigned a random date to a task or moved task dates many times just by trying to scroll. This is a real pain. With a sizable project, accidentally moving the dates of a task on the Gantt chart can be very difficult to notice or correct as you don't know what the date was previously.
It's dangerous and frustrating to screw up your dates because you were just trying to scroll. Simply adding a scroll bar as it is in other views, like the Workload chart, would solve this issue. It's not hard, and would have a positive improvement for ALL users.
Please address this issue.
Thank you.

Any movement on this? I keep messing up my Gantt chart by trying to grab and scroll, only to screw up the dates on a given task.
Hi Jason Pontius, not at the moment, unfortunately. We'll be sure to let you know if there are any changes in relation to this request.

@..., I find this very disappointing. This is a known issue in the Gantt charts, that grabbing and dragging to navigate often ends up in changing dates on tasks as this click and drag is the same motions used to add or change dates as well as navigating the view. It is very poor design.
The Workload charts has scrollbars, so why can't the Gantt charts? It's not that complicated. It's a standard UI element that can be added, as it is in almost all other views. Why is this the only view that doesn't have them? Especially when it uses the same mouse movement to actually edit the data? It's a real problem.

Still REALLY need this feature. I still have times when I try to grab and slide the Gantt chart and wind up assigning dates to tasks. This is such an oversight. That you have to scroll using the same mouse action as adding dates to tasks on the Gantt chart.
Other views such as Resources/Workload Charts have scroll bars, why can't we get a horizontal scroll bar on the Gantt chart. Makes no sense.
Pinging this thread again. I still get very frustrated with having to grab and drag the Gantt chart to scroll around as this is the same mouse move that assigns dates to tasks. So it is common to accidentally assign a date rather than move the view, which can completely screw up my schedule if there are dependencies.
Scroll bars are needed! They exist on the workload chart, which is similar in that it is a timeline type of view, but not on the Gantt chart. Why do they not exist on the Gantt charts?
I am new to Wrike but not to Gannt charts. I arrived here because having purchased this product specifcally for Team Gannt charts, I was very confused by the lack of scroll bars. Click-dragging left and right in a Gannt chart is fine, if it's an option configuratble by the user, but it is strange for this to be the only means of naviagation in Gannt chats. If we do have click-drag navigation, it should go hand-in-hand with a zoom function that drills into and out of particular time period. Pan/Zoom/Scroll -- isn't this all basic intuitive UI such as the timeline management in Adobe Premiere Pro circa 2002? So to echo JP's point, the provision of scroll bars is basic UI functionality. If I have overlooked the pan/zoom settings and the display-scroll-bar settings -and they do exist- I would love to hear from the Wrike team.
Hello Jason Pontius and Iain MacIntyre, thank you for your comments. I'm glad to announce that our Product Development Team is currently investigating the possibility to implement this addition in alignment with more improvements planned for other views. We will keep you updated on this 👍
