I am not sure what happened but before when a guest reviewer would click into their proof it would default to the dot marker. I liked that because they could just click anywhere on the screen and begin making their comments regardless of file type. But recently that has changed. It now defaults to the highlight text tool. This tool does not allow you to just click anywhere and leave a comment. I have talked to support and they said this change was made about a month ago. I don't like this change because it causes a lot of confusion for our guest reviewers. We sometimes put out 100 proofs a day and when a customer is clicking into the proof they immediately try to click somewhere and can't leave a comment because it is on the text tool so they get frustrated, click the changes required button and leave. This doesn't tell anything to our designers so they end up having to reach out the the customer to find out what they needed. This causes extra steps and time that can easily be fixed by making the dot marker the default tool. Some people might see the advantage of having the text tool be the default so I would suggest that you can set your default proofing tool inside your account settings. This would make it so that each account can set their defaults at an account level that would better suite their needs.
