Need Task durations to update automatically when tasks are completed
We need Wrike to be more agile. We have pre-determined durations for each task, but sometimes they are completed early or completed late. It would be helpful if the due date would collapse or extend automatically when the status was changed to completed. And subsequently, change all remaining task due dates, pull them in or push them out. Right now we have to manually adjust each duration when completed so it reflects when the task was actually completed.
This is a great idea - I'd like to upvote it!.
Could I suggest having a toggle option to choose whether to update task deadlines automatically or manually? Automatically for the use case described here. This would be ideal for most (probably over 90% of my projects). And manually in case dependant tasks must be completed on specific days, or if people already have tasks planned for specific days, so we're not shifting the task deadlines a lot.
Can the tasks get auto extended until admin mark task as completed?

Hey Kunal Dhande,
It currently isn't possible for tasks to extend their due dates until they've been completed. I would recommend adding your vote to this similar suggestion about editable due dates, as if there are any updates here, you'll be notified immediately.

The closest work-around that I've discovered and used is changing a due date. Before I complete a task, I update it's due-date to "today", and all the subsequent tasks update themselves. It would be incredibly useful if this was automated in some form, but it's not an impossible work-around.

This option would be incredibly helpful when viewing project/tasks on calendars. We don't want them to show up as if they are working on it but we may want to see the task when we scroll back in time. Having the end date automatically update to today when task is marked as completed would help. Or even better, when a task is marked as complete, there is a pop up asking if the end date should be updated to today.

Interesting, I've been looking for the similar resolution while project timelines move around and hence the tasks and subtasks needs to be adjusted manually (currently).
I see last update is on Sept 19, what's a ballpark ETA on the resolution (if there is one)
