Filter for excluding tasks
Hello everyone,
We are currently looking for a possibility to exclude tasks that are in a specific subfolder with a filter. Is there any possibility of doing this at the moment?
We currently have folders for our customers and subfolders or projects within this parent folder. One of the subfolders includes all tasks that are shared with the customer and we would like to exclude these tasks when having a look at all tasks within the parent folder.
I hope that I have managed to clearly explain the issue and look forward to getting some feedback on this!

I cannot think of a way to do this at the folder or project level but have you looked at Reports. You can select exactly what project or folders you want to view. This maybe the best way to look at these tasks and you can even click right into the tasks from the reports that you run. Might be worth a look. If you need help let us know.

Thank you for your feedback, but the reports do not solve the problem either, because the tasks in the folder that is shared with the customer are also included in the other internal folders for the customer and will therefore always appear in a report.

Is the customer file taged in many folders. Within reports you can exclude the folders you do not want to see within the report. See screen shot.

Our structure is as follows:
- Customer parent folder
- subfolder shared with the customer
- subfolders with all tasks concerning the customer
All tasks are included in the subfolder with all the tasks concerning the customer and only some of these tasks are also tagged in the subfolder that is shared with the customer. We are now trying to get an overview of the tasks that are currently NOT shared with the customer. I hope this explanation helps...

I understand this now. A quick question I have then is why would you have all the tasks tagged in the second subfolder? If you remove the folder tag of what is shared with the customer from all tasks in the second subfolder, you would then get the results you are looking for. Then if you want to see all the tasks within the parent folder then you could click on the parent folder and select the option to view all tasks and sub tasks.

The problem is that the tasks are first created within the subfolder that is not shared with customer and are tagged later into the other folder. We would like to have a complete overview of all tasks for the customer (shared and not shared) in the subfolder that is not shared with him and therefore do not want to remove one of the tags. I know this is very specific... ;-)
I think that it may be redundant when you can have a complete overview from the parent folder. Instead of folder tagging the other folder you could move tasks to the subfolder. In any case, you could create a third subfolder with just the tasks you want to monitor. Folder tag the needed tasks into this new subfolder and then you can work within the new subfolder putting only the tasks you want to see in there.
