Future Project Allocation

I'm fairly new to Wrike. I categorize my team's projects as either "Active" or "Pipeline" and each project (and all tasks) are assigned to a single team member to manage. Any project that has been submitted but we are not working on yet is a Pipeline project. Under Active projects, I can use the Workload view to see which of my team members are at full capacity because each project is assigned to a team member. Pipeline projects have not been assigned to team members yet. I'd like to be add the Pipeline projects (and not have to move each individual task) to the Workload view and then be able to move them from team member to team member to see the best way to make all of them "fit" together across the team.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi Marc,

I have a thought, but it may not be the best way.  However, since your projects are assigned to a single person, Each pipeline project could be a task with the individual tasks created as sub-tasks.  Use "Roll Up Dates in Gantt Chart" from Wrike Labs to align parent task dates to the sub-tasks.

In the workload view, you just move this single, project-level tasks between team members.  Once you've assigned the project-level task, you can use the list view to "Mass Edit" and assign all sub tasks to that team member.

Let me know if this is helpful.  Cheers!

Marc, any chance you can provide some screenshots? Based on the way you described this I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, but it's hard to visualize exactly the issue you're having.

Thanks Trevor and Eric. I took Trevor's idea and created a new project title "Pipeline". I then created tasks titled "Pipeline Project 1", "Pipeline Project 2", etc. I was then able to place them on the WorkStream view and move them from team member to team member.

Eric: I've attached a screen shot of the Workload view how I have it set up right now. The Pipeline projects are in the bottom row. I want to be able to forecast and adjust these assignments to see how the time fits together the best before officially assigning them to a team member. I'd be open to any suggestions you have about how to do this.

Marc, thanks for the screenshot. I think Trevor's idea is a good one, considering that you can only view tasks on the workload view.
