Turn off inherited sharing by default

Hi all,

I just want to clarify,

by turning this feature on are you making it so that, by default, all folders created after this point have inherited sharing turned off? Or that turning this on enables the feature (which doesn't seem to be the case as per my next point).

I ask because I currently have a folder structure within Wrike that uses "turn off inherited sharing" despite the fact that I do not have it enabled in Wrike labs. Is it possibly that the feature has been rolled out but without removing it from labs first? Thanks for your response in advanced.

Hi George, it depends on how you've shared with users and groups. Take a look at this quick cast from one of our CSMs which might shed some light on this.

It would be great to hear what you're looking to achieve by using this setting so I can think about how best to proceed. Thank you 👍

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly,

The video was useful however my point still stands that at the following point in the video (when "turn off inherited sharing" had not been toggled on in Wrike Labs) the opinion to "turn off inherited sharing" was still available in the sharing menu, which is the case for me currently.

Before turning on "turn off inherited sharing" in Wrike Labs

After showing the turning on "turn off inherited sharing" button in Wrike Labs but not actually turning it on, the CSM then proceeds to showcase the feature...

As I've said, this is the case for my workspace... So I'm just trying to understand what the toggle button in Wrike Labs actually does.... As the option is available in the Wrike menu without turning it on.

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you,

- George

Hi George, thanks for the clarification! This is an account wide feature so if someone (Admin) has ticked the checkbox in Labs then everyone will see the option when in the sharing dialog box.

Let me know if you've any further questions 👍

Hi Stephen,

That makes a lot of sense, I'd assumed that Wrike labs would be synced up for account wide features such as this which is why I presumed it was still functioning despite being turned off.

Thanks for your assistance you've been most helpful!

Have a great day
