Moving tasks between folders with different workflow steps

Is there a way to move a task from one folder with its own workflow in the Board view to a different folder with its own workflow and defaulting to the list view?

I understand how to add folders to tasks to make them visible and actionable in each folder. The Wrike set up is:

  1. The originating folder's (PMM Scrum) workflow includes the status - Accepted, In Progress, Completed, Hand off to Creative Services Team. Default view is the Board view.
  2. The destination folder's (CS Backlog) workflow includes the status - Assigned, In progress, Completed, On Hold. Default folder view is the List View.

My problem -

  1. Once the task gets to the Hand off to Services Team status and I assign the task to the CS Backlog folder the only way I can see the task is to switch to board view for the CS Backlog folder. The value as a clearing house for this folder is the List view.

Is there a trick to have the task show up in the desired folder with the folder view defaulted to List?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

As no one else has replied to your query yet I thought I'd go ahead and say that I do not believe that there is a method to automatically change the workflow of a task when it's moved into a folder however this is a great idea for a request for the development team (as I believe it would benefit my team as well as yours).

However in regards to your query about having to use the board view in order to see the CS Backlog status is this because the status is in the "on hold" status as apposed to the "active", "complete" or "cancelled" groups as per the image below?

If this is the case then the task can still be seen in the list view providing you filter to see all tasks (using the filter button in the top left of the image below). This can either be completed by filtering to all status by clicking the X that appears if you hover over the words "All active" (as per the image below)...

or by selecting the exact work flows you want to filter to (as per the image below).

I hope this helps and I apologise for the poor drawings.

Have a great day!

P.s. specific workflows statuses can also be filtered to (not just workflow groups) as per the third image in my previous post.

I really hope this helps and I do think the option of having all tasks placed in a folder to default to a specific task and workflow is a good one for certain use cases.

Hey Mark,

Have you made that Product Feedback page yet? As, if you have any plans to, I'd love to give it a thumbs up!
