Wrike: To Number (or not to number) Tasks
Riddle me this.....
Open Question. How do you manage your Blueprint Tasks?
Topic. Sorting Tasks --- within Projects and Blueprints
Do you .... (Sort by a custom field called Task No) (sample records)
Task No. Task
1. Task abc
2. Task xyz
(or)
Do you .... (Sort by the Task with the number already in the record name.)
Task
1. Task abc
2. Task abc
Thoughts? Grazie mille!
Trish Croce Hi! We use both folders and naming conventions to sort our blueprints. We have a folders for blueprints used by different departments, but we also name our individual blueprints as follows: Department_Process_Function. That way, similar blueprints are also grouped together within the folders.
Hi Trish Croce similar to Ali we use folders and naming conventions to sort our blueprints for each different team. Our process usually involves including a prefix in front of tasks. Some teams like to number tasks so they appear in order even if there are no dates attached to the task.
Thank you Ali and Amy for sharing your comments. I really appreciate it!
In out blue prints and all project plans we are numbering the lines, and skipping 5 numbers to ensure the tasks we identify a clear/sane flow(while allowing an insert if we missed something.... currently found that 1.0.0, 1.0.5, 1.0.10 etc for Discovery, then 2.0.0 Planning, 3.0.0 Execution etc....Wish we could automate this field...something to work on in my "Extra Free Time" I suppose. :-)
