How to Search and Add the Existing Project from Request Form
Hi, we've been using Wrike for over two years and have created numerous projects. We created a few Request Forms that were able to create projects from the blueprint. Here is my issue; for example, I created project P001 in July, and then today I would like to create another project A001 and add it to P001, so when we browse the P001, we are able to see A001 as a subproject. Currently we are doing it manually, where we add the A001 to P001 after the form is submitted. However, what I'm trying to achieve here is that the project is automatically added to the existing project upon the Request Form submitted. I'm unable to find a questionnaire that allows users to select which existing project they want to link the new one to in the request form. Is there a workaround for this?
The only option I see is to add the new project to a specific project, but that's not ideal, as our number of projects is constantly growing. For example, today we have 100 projects, and by tomorrow, we may have 105, and we might want to add the new project A050 to Project P102. The running number for Project A and Project P is different.
The short answer is this can't be done today with request forms. Request forms always create new projects.
Probably the best workaround would be to right-click on the project, "add item" and then search for a blueprint. This is not as good as creating from a request form, as all the information must be populated manually.
Or you could use the request form to make the new project and then move it after it's created. Neither ideal.
Hi Mike Fank, I agree that both proposed ideas may not be ideal, as there’s a risk that team members might forget to add the project. Nonetheless, I appreciate your input. Thank you, Mike.
