Lisa I'm seeing that over the weekend, the custom field section on the task level has changed to more of a drop-down feature. Is there any way to reverse this? We use these custom fields for every single project, and adding a button click to see them is terrible for our process.
New way to open "More" or "Less" Custom Fields is very time consuming and to see the custom fields and context of the task at the same time. Had it been in the from of 2-3 columns , it would have not taken so much space if one has many custom fields. Moreover, since my custom fields are configured to the project, when i add a particular project in the Location, the custom fields does not appear automatically. I need to refresh the screen every tome to get the custom fields. Is there any way to reverse this.
I wanted to echo the statements mentioned above. My team and I are are struggling to use this new "feature" because we need to be able to view the custom fields and the task details at the same time. This update is adding extra clicks, making us scroll a lot more through our tasks, and slowing our workflow and team meetings.
I'm sure the new dropdown is helpful for some people, but for many of us, it was much more efficient to have the column view from before. Are you able to update it so we can choose which way the tasks and custom fields are displayed? Or at least for custom item types?
I also want to note that it's not fun to start Monday mornings with a Wrike update that is seemingly small on your end, but greatly impacts the workflow for so many of your users.
Lisa, the new item view makes it harder to see most of the custom fields we're used to seeing at a glance. As well, it's inconsistent with the layout established in the settings. I there a way to revert to the way it was before?
I also agree with everyone in this chat. I actually prefer to have all of the information that is found in the "More Details" section at the top of the ticket as the previous view had it but I can make the version work for me where the "More Details" info is on the right hand side of the ticket. This new view definitely requires more clicks and is more time consuming.
Hello, the new change to the default custom field hidden list is causing difficulties for the team. Please have it so that all custom fields can be displayed.
Hello,
This new change where the custom field list is hidden (even in custom item types) is causing extra work for our team. We preferred the old format where custom fields were displayed on the side by default. Can you please help give this option back to the users? This change is increasing the difficulty in getting wrike adopted by the larger organization.
Thanks,
If Wrike is going to make what seems to be just a visual change like this, at least give us the option of choosing where it displays so if someone doesnt like it, we can go back to the right side panel. Also, there is zero mention of this change on the video/help center article posted today.
I have had to change my Internal Wrike User Guide & Videos countless times because Wrike makes changes like this. This is seriously hampering our ability to onboard and assist our team with adoption.
I agree with another comment that it makes me feel Wrike doesnt work well for large organizations.
Why are we making major UI changes right before LightSpeed is to launch in August? The core product needs a code freeze period in order to allow your customer time to update support documentation and to allow our users time to become comfortable with the new layout before it is forced live. Making changes like this right before launch is not doing anyone a service. Almost every change Wrike is making to LightSpeed takes us from 0-1 click(s) to as many as 3 to obtain the same information. That is a problem. The code freeze request has already been brought to the attention of our CSM. Can you please share this with your product development team.
Please, at least create a button in order to choose which of the two visualizations each one prefer. Personally, and similar to the previous comments, we also prefer the previous visualisation
New way to open Custom Fields is very time consuming. at least give us option to toggle between the options to select which is better for us to work with.
some time it requires reload to open "More" or "Less" Custom Fields. old style was easy to view. provide us option to select which is better to us for working.
New way to open "More" or "Less" Custom Fields is very time consuming & not better than previous one. Old layout is easy to view custom fields.
hii there, while opening custom fields it is taking more time then earlier also previous method was slightly better than this. better to have toggle button to try & use both view style.
Thanks to the community and that we are not the only ones.
The new way to see custom fields makes it definitely worse. It was so much more better before when it was possible to see customs fields next to description without the need to click on an extra button
I have to agree with all the comments above. as Jose Gacitua said "Please, at least create a button in order to choose which of the two visualizations each one prefer. Personally, and similar to the previous comments, we also prefer the previous visualisation". this should remain an option. This is too big of a change to just spring on ALL users without any consultation.
Same. I've been able to roll with most of the Lightspeed changes but having to open upwards of over 20 custom fields in a long narrow sidebar where you can't see them all at once has been time consuming - scrolling up and down. I've reverted while I still can, just to get some work done quickly.
Many are expressing their input about the custom fields view. We too feel the same. Is Wrike providing the choice to keep the old view? I don't see any response to this community chat? Any feedback Lisa?????????????????
And to add, the video isn't clear and too quick. not helpful.

Lisa This change of removing sidebar is not good.
We have many custom fields and relating these custom fields to the latest comments is a big task now. Its very time consuming. My speed of work has got drastically reduced since yesterday when the side bar was removed. Please provide a choice to the user to go back to the side view of custom fields

Hello,
We'd also like to get the old view back with the custom fields on the right. This new view really doesn't suit our needs. We chose WRIKE over all the other tools because of its much-needed custom fields, and hiding them by default is not at all what we want. I understand the appeal of this display on mobile, but definitely not on desktop, where the wide screen allows multiple columns to be displayed comfortably. The result is extremely large fields, 3 quarters of which are empty. Instead of relevant information, we have wasted space.
Having implemented Wrike fairly recently, I don't think this is a resistance-to-change problem, but rather a UI issue. The feedback from our entire team and the various comments here seem to support this view.
I completely agree w Sarah Schmitt, we transitioned 70 users from Asana earlier this year and over and above the initial implementation and learning phase, have spent an inordinate amount of time with the changes that keep happening to the UI. the present change achieves little in terms of convenience, but does add the number of clicks needed to get to relevant Custom Fields - without seeing which one cannot understand what is going on in the task.
Agreed on our side as well. We paid for some fairly extensive (weekly meetings and homework for several months) and wonderful additional Wrike training at the beginning of the year that is at least 50% out of date mere months later. This is disrupting a bit of our Wrike adoption for our regional teams.
please change the additional drop down feature back. I need to be able to see the task location and now it is hidden and i will have to open the task and click the drop down for every notification I get.
+1, not being able to see the custom fields and the location of a task while having the description also in view is so painful.
I'd like to see Location moved back under the Title - because it's so important for context.
When are all these changes going to stop? My company paid for training earlier this year and almost everything has changed. Now I need to re-train the regional teams, but cannot do that because I can't keep track of all the changes. I am starting to feel like a free Wrike beta tester.
Thank you all for your continued feedback, everyone! Please rest assured we're carefully documenting all your inputs and sharing them with the internal teams. We'll keep you updated on any future changes.
