More Customization of Dashboard Widgets
Would be interested in having more flexibility in customizing the view of dashboards
Right now we are constrained to:
- 3 widgets stacked vertically on top
- Columns allow width adjustments
- Columns scroll horizontally
What we would be interested in - is having more flexibility to build dashboards with more horizontal scrolling rather than vertical. And ideally more customized size formatting for each widget added (size, alignment, etc)
Hi Sherrie Besecker, thanks for the interesting ideas! I've shared them with our Product team 👍🏼
Oops - meant to say less Horizontal Scrolling, more vertical stacking and scrolling!
+ New Feature Idea - Is there an Option on Dashboards to be able to show the start date in addition to the due date?
No problem, we got it 🤓 Sherrie Besecker. To answer your other question yes, it's possible. When you hover over to the upper-right side of the widget you will see three dots menu appearing, please select edit from there. Then you can edit the filters and add Start date to your widget.
Please let me know if this helps 🙋🏻♀️
Thanks Cansu - unfortunately - that just adds a filter to the widget (pulling tasks with specific start date) - what we are looking for is to see if it is possible to display the start and end date within the widget on the dashboard. We are already filtering by Active Tasks, and sorting by date (which defaults to sorting by due date) - It does indicate what is due today, what is due this week, later, etc within the widget.
This is currently what displays:
Hoping to see if the product team can add this functionality/toggle which already exists in other places in Wrike - examples:
Workload View - This would be ideal - where it shows start to end date, duration, and effort
To Do List - while it doesn't show start date - it does have a toggle to show duration like this - at least the user would be able to figure out how long they have to work on a task.
Just some thoughts!
Thanks for the explanation Sherrie Besecker, all clear now 😊 I do understand how this functionality can help, I've shared your additional feedback with the team 👍🏼
Hey, is there still a limit to the horizontal stacking of widgets? would be great to stack more so the dashboard stays in one colum and be able to scroll to them.
Hi Jakob Lüppen, welcome to the Community! You can use the horizontal layout to achieve this:

Thanks for the feedback. I know about the horizontal layout. At the moment the view ist limited to 3 horizontal widgets. Is there any chance to increase that and make dashboards with lots of widgets scrollable. That would be awesome
Hey, Jakob! Have you tried new dashboards as suggested by Juan? I believe you're talking about classic dashboards here. If not can you please share some details with us?

Yeah, I am moving within the new dashboard. Sherrie Besecker already identified that the issues with the widgets and the horizontal scrolling. Was just wondering if there is going to be an update for that.
Thanks, Jakob! I see now what you are trying to do but it's not clear why it's an issue. Would you be so kind as to record a video and submit it via support so we can take a look? Alternatively, you can share it here.
As a workaround, you can also move widget 4 in between widgets 2 and 3 and then you swap functionality to swap widgets 3 and 4 to get to the desired state.

I am also experiencing the limit of only being able to have 3 widgets in a column. Trying to squeeze another one in between the xisting 3 doesn't even bring up the "blue line" that suggests it is possible. I have tried both layout options. No go. Sad about it. I would like to be able to have more than 3 widgets in a column.
Hey Daniyel! It looks like a bug, and we are going to look into it. Thanks!
