Wrike API error with Operation is not allowed due insufficient user rights or account license limitations

Hi,

I'm facing an issue using Wrike API when I try to create a Project.

I'm using permanent access token

I can create a simple Folder easily with REST API but when I'm adding extra information for project part in order to create a Project folder, I'm receiving an error.

So when I'm using a REST call to create a Project like :

POST https://www.wrike.com/api/v4/folders/<FOLDER_ID>/folders

I receive :

HttpResponseException: 403 Forbidden

{"errorDescription":"Operation is not allowed due insufficient user rights or account license limitations","error":"not_allowed"}

I tried to use the Wrike Website directly and there, I'm able to create a Project in the target folder.

I checked other support threads, could it be related to the fact I'm using Permanent access token and not oauth2 token ? Do I need to be admin but in that case, why can I create a Project folder from Wrike website directly and not from REST API ?

Thanks a lot for your valuable support

Sebastien

I have similar question regarding this error. I am receiving this 403 when requesting the finance fields for a project/folder. Does this have something to do with me using permanent a access token?

Thank you,

Noah

I am having the same issue when trying to access projects via the API. Is the solution to the original question from this thread (or similar issues) documented anywhere? Would be very helpful if so.

Error: {
    "errorDescription": "Operation is not allowed due insufficient user rights or account license limitations",
    "error": "not_allowed"
}

I am also having this issue.

It would be extremely beneficial if the resolutions were posted in the thread!

Hi Folks, welcome to the forum! We're raising tickets here because every case can be different, but for Noah's case, our team recommended to do the following:
We recommend asking your Account Owner or Admin to upgrade your financial access to "Manager" or "Reviewer". Once this has been done, please try to send an API call again.

If this option doesn't work for you, please let me know and I'll be happy to ask our API experts to look into this for you 🙂

For anyone looking in the future, my resolution was having my weekly duplication limit reset. The response is below :)

Wrike Support can quickly reset the limit if necessary. If you get a message like the one you've encountered, you can check if it's possible to create from a blueprint right in your workspace. If the limit is hit, a message that the weekly limit is exceeded will be displayed. In this case, please reach out to us asking to reset your weekly duplication limit. For such cases, please use chats to make sure your limit is reset right away, as it may take some time for us to get back to you via email.
