Timelog Reports

If you analyze team performance the ability to see time spent by every team member on certain projects is crucial to assess total effort. Now you can use Timelog Reports which are available from the Reports section of Wrike. You can build a custom report which includes Timelog entries that match the criteria you choose in the Report Builder or you can use the template to create a Timelog Weekly Report.

Timelog Reports are great for seeing billable hours and improving future task delegation or for estimating time management for similar projects. They can be used by professional services companies, freelancers, and contractors (Collaborators can view Reports, but not create them).

To start creating your Timelog report

  1. Open the Reports tab
  2. Select the Time Spent This Week Report template or generate a custom Report and choose the "Timelog" option from the Report Builder.

You can create a table Report on Timelog entries with the following filters:
  • User [standard user filter]
  • Date [standard date filter]

You can also choose from the following groupings available for your Timelog Report:
-User
-Date
-Comment
-Parent folder
-Task title
-Time spent

Once your table Timelog Report is created you'll see the following information in columns:
-Task Title
-User name
-Date when the timelog entry was added
-Time spent
-Parent Folder
-Comment that was added with the timelog entry

Ithere aren't any time tracking entries in the Folders you're reporting on, you'll see the message "No timelog entries met your criteria".

Just like with regular Reports, you can edit, share, and subscribe to Timelog Reportsas well as export to Excel, create and send a snapshot.

Hopefully, the Timelog Reports will become a great option for you to track the information you need! Please find more information about our Reports feature in our Help Center and if you want to start logging time for the tasks in your account please learn how you can start doing so here.

That is a great feature. Can you add Time Allocated to the report. We need to know if time spend is in excess of time allocated.

Hi Barclay, thanks for commenting here! Do you track allocated time in a Custom Field?

Can you add custom fields to a timelog report? We use a  custom field to track an id number. We require this number to link timelogs to another system.

Thanks in advance.

We track allocated time using the standard "allocated hours' field that is in beta https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000079209-Effort-Allocation-Allocated-Hours

@Barclay, great tool to mention!

@Joseph Yes, you can also add a Custom Field to a Timelog Report. After you create your report, click the gear icon that appears in the Report's top-left, then check the box next to any Custom Field you want to appear. Let me know if that helps!

@Stephanie I have just tried to add a custom field to a timelog report and the custom fields do not appear.

They do on a task-based report.

For example here are the options under the cog on a task-based report: http://x.n43.me/142K3i0k1H2F/Image%202018-02-13%20at%203.17.33%20pm.png

And here are the options under the cog icon on a timelog based report: http://x.n43.me/1x2w401D3U0z/Image%202018-02-13%20at%203.18.38%20pm.png

Any ideas?

I apologize for missing your reply Nathaniel - you're right I mistyped, you are able to add Custom Fields to Task Reports but not to Timelog Reports.
