Time Spent vs Allocated Hours
It seems easy to me, but when can we get a report when the Time Spend exceeds the Allocated Hours? Both fields are recorded in Wrike.
I've also been looking at the "Coming Soon" sign for almost a year on the Effort chart in Analytics. A great feature which will make the Allocated Hours field much better. When can we see this report?
I have had Wrike for a while and no progress seems to be made with the Time Logs.
Hi Barclay! :) To view these fields side by side in a Report, just enable both of them (and whatever else you'd like to see) by clicking the gear icon in the top left corner of the Report:
Is this what you were looking for?
I need to know how much Time Spent is exceeding Allocated Hours. We have thousands of tasks in Wrike and I need to filter for only those tasks where time is exceeding the Allocation hours.
I can't export the report into excel, because the Allocated Hours is in number format (e.g "2.5") and Time Spent is in hours and minutes (e.g. "2 h 30 m"). Therefore I can't easily use an excel formula as the formats are different.
The easy solution for Wrike is to make Time Spent format to be exporting in a number format (e.g. "2.5"). I can then export into Excel to calculate the time that exceeds the allocated time, but we can also then easily calculate billings per hour in Excel and numerous other reports that are requested in this forum.
The next step would be then to allow custom fields that allow subtraction and multiplication. We then would not have to export into Excel and it allows us to create some really useful reports.
Also, do you have an estimated timeframe for the launch of the Effort chart in Analytics?
Thanks for following up, Barclay! I appreciate the clarification, that helps. Lots of interesting ideas there! As for Analytics, this is an experience we've been thinking about and discussing a lot, so while I don't have a timeframe for that chart, we're working on improving the Reporting and Analytics experience as a whole. :)
Great point Barclay. Where are we with this effort, it would be very useful to see Allocated Hours - Time Spend to know how much hours we have remaining or exceeded. Please update us on this. Thanks.
This is very, very basic functionality expected of a solution such as this.
While Wrike itself has some poor design and some bugs - as a premise, it works ok. But it seems as though it's driven by those who don't actually know anything about project management.
What is the point of providing fields to accommodate how long a task should take, if there is no real way to utilise that information? Time overspend is a critical factor in utilisation and this is almost a deal breaker for this software unfortunately.
Hi everyone! Thanks for continuing to voice your thoughts here, they've all been really helpful, and I wanted to pop in to share a quick update: this is something we're working on :) No concrete dates to share just yet, but I wanted to let you know that our Product Team does hear your concerns and has made progress on this. Thanks again for sharing, and I'll make sure to share updates whenever they come up!
Anastasia - any update here?
Hi Colter, it's a massive undertaking from our team as it's closely linked to different elements in Wrike and we have yet any dates to share. I've brought it to the attention of the Product Team again for further updates and once I have something concrete to share I'll be sure to share here with you 👍
Hi. Is there any further updates on this since the last post in April?
Thanks!
Angela
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone is using Calculations on Reports for this? There are no alerts, but it is a way to review where projects currently stand in terms of allocated and planned time.
Also should mention the Wrike Resource add-on here for anyone interested in detailed workload management and more.
Hi Stephen,
Following on this tread, how do we get to activate the resource add-on? I don't see the Workload tab on my top menu to get access to it.
Thank you,
Jose
@Jose Hey, thanks for reaching out 🙂 You can click this link and then "Contact Us" or I can raise a Support ticket for you - the team can help with this as well. Please tell me which option you prefer 🙌
