At the Moment, there is no working Solution, only some Workarounds, which will fix this issue for a moment

Workaround 1:

1. Close the Desktop app via the top-left 3-dot menu > File> Exit
2. Press Win+R
3. Copy-paste %APPDATA%/Wrike and press Ok
4. Find the Settings file and delete it:

Workaround 2:

Via the Console:

- View > Toggle Developer Tools > For content view
- Application tab > Clear storage on the left panel > Clear site data

Workaround 3:

This may be a Solution, but i can not tell for now, because i have done this today and still testing

You may need to quit Wrike or Restart PC to uninstall.

  1. Uninstall the Wrike desktop app via Apps & Features in your computer settings.
  2. Once it's done, delete the Wrike folder:
Press the Windows key + R combo > enter %appdata% in the "Run" window that opens and hit "OK" > this will open the "Roaming" folder > find the "Wrike" folder here and delete it. The full path looks like this: C:\Users<current.user>\AppData\Roaming
  3. Reinstall the Wrike desktop app.

As I recognized, the Issue seems to be with the Session Saving.

So the Easiest Solution might be to close all Windows and Tabs you do not want, then on the 3 Dots -> File -> Exit

So the Session will be Saved. When you just Shut Down your PC, Wrike does not save your open Tabs and Windows

Micha's solution seems to have worked for me.  Thanks Micha!

I realise this is a bit late, but I also had this issue, and the fix for me was to right click the Wrike icon in the system tray (bottom right next to the time and date), select Preferences and then untick the second option "Leave app running in notification area when the window is closed".

This results in Wrike actually closing when you use the close window "X" button in the top right, and not just closing the window but still running in the background, which then results in the issue Micha mentions above (session being force closed with a Windows restarts/shuts down).
