Workload Chart - Filter by Project Status OR Multiple Spaces

We use the Workload Chart for planning our team's workload on a weekly and ongoing basis. We view by: people and group by: project which allows us to review & discuss overall planned effort by team member on a daily basis, and easily see which projects each team member is working on.

We prefer leaving the filter set to "all tasks" (rather than "active tasks") to be able to view effort and tasks for the entire week, including those tasks already completed. It appears that Wrike has some hidden filters/settings that will hide projects that do not have tasks with effort in some proximity in future/past to the current date as when I scroll back far enough into the past, my project list will grow..

The issue is that my workload chart is showing projects that are not relevant, which is clogging up my screen. For example, one project is completed -- the status of the project and all tasks within are marked "complete", with zero planned effort in the future, and the most recent past effort is >1 month ago.

Request:

Option 1: Revise the hidden settings to filter out projects for which no future effort exists and past effort is more than 1 week old, or allow these settings to be user adjustable.

Option 2: Allow the user to assign multiple Spaces to show on the workload chart. We move completed projects to a "zArchive" space when completed, but we plan effort for projects/tasks located in more than one space. The workload chart currently only allows the user to select only one space by which to filter..

Again, I know I can filter by "active tasks" only to achieve something similar, but I want to see my completed tasks to show the progress I've made for the week.

I second the request for the workload reports to show planned workloads across multiple spaces!! We use several spaces (for a variety of reasons) but looking at workload across all of them would be quite helpful.

Hi Rebecca Thorburn, thank you for chiming in. When creating a workload chart, you can determine its data source, which can be specific items or the entire account:

May I kindly ask you to elaborate on your request so we can better understand what are you trying to achieve? 🙂

Thank you!

Hi Juan,

When you select the data source, you can only select one source. I need to select multiple spaces.

(FYI: The tip in blue also only mentions selecting a folder or project, not a space.)

A change seems to have been made since I made this request though - my workload reports suddenly show all spaces vs. just one. This is helpful.

Hi Rebecca Thorburn, thank you for your reply. In order to include items from different Spaces (or even all items contained in different Spaces), the solution would be to include all those items in one folder, which will be the data source or your workload chart:

1- Create the folder that will be selected as data source:

2- Include all the relevant items in the folder using the New Table view (you can include all the items contained in the folder).

3- Repeat this step in the other/s Space/s. Tag this folder with the first one you created in the first Space:

Finally, select the first folder as the data source in your Workload chart.

I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know 🙂

I figured that was the solution but wow - that's an awful amount of work. It shouldn't be that hard, especially when you already have the ability to add a folder or a project - why can't y'all also enable adding a space?

I will add to this request to be able to add from multiple spaces to include the ability to filter the Spaces on the report so we can switch from seeing all spaces at once, to viewing just specific spaces.  We currently have three spaces.  I would like to see all three, but then be able to use a filter to remove one of them, and just see two at once.

Hi Bas Rijks and Cathy Snyder. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Thank you for following up and sharing your feedback. I understand how valuable it would be to add multiple spaces as a data source in the workload chart. I’ve forwarded your comments to the relevant team for their consideration.

At this time, we don’t have any updates from the product team regarding this functionality. However, if there are any changes or new information, we’ll be sure to keep you informed. 😊
