Desktop app needs OneDrive functionality like online app
In the web-based Wrike app, it is possible to attach files directly from OneDrive. However, this feature is unavailable in both the Windows and Mac desktop apps. For our company, it is a deal-breaker on the desktop app. It would be great if that feature could be added.
Agree. I really like using the desktop app with the ability to switch between tabs, but then have to switch to web-based just to upload a file.
This is one of many issues with the desktop apps - the app should offer more than the browser but actually does less. The app appears to be a browser component anyway so not sure why these features aren't replicated at the very least.
I don't understand at all why this isn't a function on the desktop app. Seems like a big mistake on Wrike's part. As it's been said, the desktop client typically offers more functionality and convenience over the online version, but this was bad judgement to not include the OneDrive integration with the desktop app. I'm a little shocked there aren't more posts on this. It should have traction so it gets fixed sooner.
+1 on this. I prefer using the desktop app and being able to add a document from OneDrive without having to use the web app would make life easier and more efficient. I use OneDrive exclusively and the added time to switch over every time I need to add a doc from OneDrive is affecting my productivity.
The feedback I received from Wrike is that they did have this functionality at one time on the desktop app, but due to inconsistencies in it's functioning, they removed it. That's basically all they said. They didn't mention if they are trying to fix those issues and bring it back which again is baffling that they wouldn't extend the functionality to the desktop app or make it a priority.
Ben Martindale Thanks for the feedback. Maybe someday they will add this back in.

Thanks for posting the link here, Andrew Boekestein 🙂 Our Product team are working on this functionality, no ETA available at this point. I'll let you know when I have more details!

That is something really needed! For us uploading things are sometimes bit amateuristic. We should download and upload...
Hi Hasan Numanoglu, thank you for this feedback. It's been passed on to the Product team.
What is the current status on this "feature"?
It seems like the Desktop app still doesn't allow file attachments from OneDrive.
Hello Patrik Wagner, our Support team will be in touch with you shortly in relation to this request. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions 🙋🏻♀️

I have the same question as Patrik Wagner - any updates on this? We're getting ready to roll out Wrike to 50+ users so I'm hopeful we can give them an option to use the standalone app, but the lack of OneDrive functionality will likely take it out of the running for most users.
Hi Matt Becker, welcome to the Community 👋
While the team doesn't currently have this on their short-term roadmap, our Support team suggests using the SharePoint file selector to attach files to Wrike from OneDrive. Could that be helpful to you?

Lisa That does not help. They are two different tools.
To be clear, this is not a request for a new feature. This is a request for consistent functionality between the web-based application and the standalone desktop application. It's disappointing (and to be honest, irrational in my opinion) that bridging that gap is not on the development roadmap.
Thank you for getting back to me, Matt Becker! I'm passing your feedback to the Product team 👍
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!
