Document Editor

This issue pops up every couple of weeks: I go to edit one document and it refuses to open.

I click the little pencil icon to open the spreadsheet & it tells me I have to download the Document Editor in order to edit documents - as if I don't do it several times a week. The only thing I can do is re-download it. Then it will work perfectly for a few days - until the same thing happens again. So annoying!!

Hi

For me, I can only download and install it

I get this message:

"Wrike couldn’t connect to your Document Editor app. Please complete the installation or download the installer again. Once installed, make sure your antivirus or firewall isn’t blocking the app. Contact your Wrike Administrator and Wrike Support if you continue experiencing issues."

I'm having same problem with Document editor. I had to download the Wrike app as it wouldn't install the update. I also had to download the document editor and it still won't function when I try to edit a document. Just keeps prompting me to download - which I've already done!

Same problem as the people above. When I try to select edit it keeps telling me to download the Document Editor. Which I did twice and was caught in a never-ending loops. 

Also, it seems really counter intuitive to not be able to post in this Help center on the actual app.

Hey guys! Here's what our Support team asks to do in this case to troubleshoot:

1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
2. Switch to "Startup"
3. Check if it says "Enabled".
4. If it says "Disabled", right-click it and select "Enabled". This way it will be automatically launched after you restart your PC.

If the app says it's "Enabled", please do the following:

1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
2. Go to "Details" (Win 8, 10).
3. There are two processes. Check if they both say "Running".

If there's no "Running" status, please:

1. Press Win + R -> enter %localappdata%
2. Go to WrikeDocumentEditor -> launch WrikeDocumentEditorClient.exe

Try to open Document Editor and check if it's running for you.

Hi Lisa, I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing those Task Manager-related steps on this post! Our team was running into the same issues described in this community article when trying to use the Document Editor add-in. However, just prior to submitting a support request, I found this article. The steps you described regarding the Task Manager seemed to have taken care of the issue.
