Parent Task vs Subtask completion
It would be great not to be able to complete the parent task unless the sub tasks are completed first. Otherwise, they are out there lingering with no context.

I agree!
Please do implement a logic that it is not possible to complete the parent task if subtask are still open.
Thanks!
Sabrina
Was searching the message boards to see if this was possible - any chance we can add this to the feature list?

This is creating some confusion here too. Especially if you implement a custom workflow. It would be great to enforce hierarchal completion status.
Oooh this would be so nice! I have it set up to auto-complete the parent task if all of the subtasks are marked as completed, but sometimes people on our team will mark the parent task as complete thinking it's their personal task. It doesn't affect anything huge (because they don't click to mark the rest of the subtasks as complete), but it's still a little confusing for some people.
Thank you both for supporting this suggestion!
Same need here.
Automation allowing for this would also be a great workaround, but right now Automation is way too restrictive.
Ideal automation profile: Trigger: Task complete, Condition: At least 1 subtask has status X (e.g. "in progress"), Action: Change tasks status to X (e.g. back to "in progress")
