Desktop App would not update, un-install
Wrike for Windows failed to update itself on every launch for about a week. Eventually I tried to uninstall it - this also failed.
I had to reboot my computer, un-install it, and then install it clean.

I know this is an old thread, but I just want to confirm that I'm having the same issue. After attempting to update due to the prompt that an update was available, the desktop app won't restart, and I'm unable to uninstall it. I tried restarting, but I received the same symptoms. I'm running Windows 10 Pro build 19045.4651.
I also have the Mac version, but I haven't tried to log in on Mac since I discovered the issue with the Windows version this morning.
I'm nothing if not persistent. Got the windows app back. Below are the steps:
I am having the same problem. Just updated on my Windows desktop and the update won't work. Spinning wheel and can't uninstall to reinstall. Says there's an install problem.
I am having this same issue...Wrike Desktop says there's a new version available....I click 'Install Now' and the update appears to start and disappears. I can't find anywhere to manually start the update. I'm on Windows 11.
Edit: My IT admin forced the update by clicking "Run as Administrator" to update to 4.4.1
Same issue, however, I am on a Mac using the app. The 'Installing new version" dialogue window has been present for half an hour and restarting the app is futile and continues to stall.

Same here. Always the same routine:
- damn I can't do a normal update
- what was it again that I had to do?
- Oh right, manually delete folders
- which one again?
- [goes to Wrike ticketing to find supports' answer on that one]
- [reminds me that I should put this somewhere where I can readily find it. Hmmm...maybe in Wrike 💡]
- etc.

Why is this still an issue from 2020? I've experienced the same thing running the Wrike Desktop app. It just shows the following image, with no indication of progress or error encountered.

It's a recurring issue.
Below the workaround proposed by Wrike. It's far from ideal but it works.
Please try the following steps to perform clean reinstall of the app:
Hiope this works.
Cheers.
