Move file from task to task

It would be nice to be able to move files from task to task instead of reuploading each time. It would take less space also.

Yes! I was just looking for instructions on how to do this, but I see it's apparently not possible yet. One day soon, I hope!

I completely agree! Along with this, being able to drag and drop tasks from Wrike into a folder on the computer would be very nice. Kind of the way one can from Outlook emails.

I would be great to move attachments from task to tasks and the "drag and drop" feature. It would also be helpful to be able to move an attachment to a project as well so that everyone on the project can refer to the same information.

Merge with this: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115003241529-Move-Attachments

Change the paradigm to say files are stored, then tasks refer to them (like asset management systems). The current model of "File lives inside this task only" is too limiting.

Hey everyone! Thank you for all of your feedback here, it's been passed on to the Product team.

As you can see from this thread, moving attachments between tasks is currently planned to be implemented and they are researching the idea now. I'd recommend adding your voices to this thread, so that the Product team can find all of your feedback in one easily accessible thread.

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, be sure to let me know.

Hi Hugh,

This the original post is from 2018! And we still don't have any built-in automation for triggering files to move from one task to the next. Why? When will this be implemented? In the interim, what integration do you recommend we use to re-code for file movement from task to task. Thank you!

Hi Linda Gonnella, I’m stepping in for Hugh here. Thank you for reaching out. Regarding Véronie’s post above, it’s now possible to move and copy attachments. Here’s the Help Center article with details and instructions.

I understand your concern about not having a built-in automation for triggering file moves. If you’d like to explore potential workarounds using integrations, you can contact our Support Team, as they may be able to help. Alternatively, I can raise a ticket on your behalf, just let me know.
