Ability to drag tasks to (sub)folders in table view

Hi,

Our team uses the table view a lot to move tasks from our main folder (product folder) to subfolders (mostly projects) inside the folder. The main folder is where feature requests come in from our company, and the subfolders (projects) are future releases.

There is currently no way to drag tasks in the table view from folder to folder. The list view does have this functionality, but you are not able to see multiple folders at one time.

This would be a great feature to add to the table view!

Cheers,

Pieter

Hi Pieter, thanks for your post.

So currently you cannot drag and drop tasks in Table View, thank you for submitting that feedback. However, using List View you can use the Folder tree on the left of your workspace to see multiple Folders to move tasks to. See the below GIF or let me know if I've misunderstood your idea here 🙂

Hi Stephen,

We do use that method now. Unfortunately, you cannot see all the metadata here. For example, we tag new requests based on importance, duration estimate, and who is assigned/has time. The table view is amazing for this, apart from not being able to drag items.

Cheers,

Pieter

Hello!

We are looking for a similar functionality but instead we'd like to be able to add tasks to projects from within the Table View. Our team manages a LOT of projects and sometimes it is cumbersome to navigate the folder tree to find the project we want to add tasks. The Table View is very handy as it allows us to sort by column and find projects within folders quickly.

Thanks,

-Ampa

I agree.  This would be great.  You can drag and drop in list view and even gantt chart view, but not table.

Having the ability to drag and drop in table view would be great as there is more information there that we have built in from our requests.

Hi,

Want to chime in to agree with all of the above! Any way to drag and drop or reorder tasks in table view would be a major improvement for us. Because of the way associated data is displayed, we use Table almost exclusively and never have a use for List. The various sorting options don't really do it. At the moment we're resorting to creating a sortable column called "number,"  manually giving every task a number, and then every time a task needs to be moved or inserted, we manually change the number of all tasks below it. So this would be pretty significant for us.

Yeah, I really wish you could drag and drop in table view for all the reasons mentioned above.  It's just a much easier place to organize and see hierarchy than the list view.

Agreed! I prefer the table over the list view. Drag and drop for tables would be really useful.

Hey @Everyone, thanks for your continued feedback here 🙂 The New Table View allows to drag and drop a task to move it to a Folder or Project, or convert into a subtask. Please let me know if that helps 👍
