Automation to "Add Comment and Mention" "Person who Triggered the Rule
Currently we're able to automate assigning a task to the user who changed the status of an item by utilizing the "Assign to: Person who triggered the rule" function.
However, there are instances where it would be helpful to message the person who triggered a rule even if we don't want the status assigned to them.
For example, when we receive estimate approval for a client, our Account Manager will move the status to "SOW Approved - Request PO#". We need the Account Manager to fill out the Quantity field before we can move to the next step, so we would like to be able to send a notification to the person who changed the status, reminding them to fill out the Quantity field if it was still empty when the status changed.
Could the "Person who Triggered the Rule" option be made available when selecting "Add Comment and Mention" users?
Thanks!
Agree. This does seem like an odd oversight. Our current work around is to assign the person who triggered the rule and then @assignees with our message. It would be simpler if a two-step process was not needed.
Thanks Ali Moses, I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately, we're using the status changes to also trigger automations that reassign the project to someone else, so that process wouldn't work for us. That is a clever workaround though! Thanks for suggesting it!
