Need the ability to calculate duration based on planned effort * allocation

I need a feature in Wrike to be able to calculate the duration of a task based on the estimated effort required split across the allocated hours/percentage of the assigned resource.

For example, lets say I have a development task and the developer estimates it will take 10 hours. The resource is only able to allocate 2 hours a day or 20% of their availability to this task. I should be able to enter those two values in Wrike and then it calculate that the task duration should be 5 days.

Most project management tools that I have used allow this, but Wrike requires you to work backwards and assign a duration to the task before you can enter the resource allocation which is not useful to me.

Basudha Sakshyarika: is there a timeline in implementing this feature into Wrike? When changing assignee's this function would automatically change the task duration.

Additionally the option to define the allocation of an assignee per project can help automating the planning of an employee which is responsible for multiple projects at the same time.

I completely agree with this request — having Wrike calculate task duration automatically from estimated effort and resource allocation would be a huge improvement. This isn’t just a convenience; it’s critical for accurate planning, especially when resources are shared across multiple projects. Without it, we risk underestimating timelines, overloading team members, and misaligning dependencies. This is a standard capability in many project management tools, and adding it to Wrike would significantly improve scheduling accuracy and reduce manual calculation errors.

Here some screenshots to demonstrate the request:

  1. Supported: Get effort based on Duration && Allocation :
  2. Supported: Get Allocationbased on Duration && effort :

  3. We could benefit a lot from having Duration based on Effort & allocation.

Any possible Work-Around will be very much appreciated!
