HTML review comments - Ability to sort and group comments by URL

Hello,

In our User Experience Testing we will give each tester the site URL in the HTML review tool, and they can review the entire site and provide comments. I can see that the under the info of each comment it tracks the URL page for each comment. It would be great if we could sort the comments by page URL to make the update process exponentially easier to follow and would save an enormous amount of time.

Thank you

Hey Shermaine Russell! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Thank you for the post. Would creating a text type custom field where you can add the URL help, as it would make sorting possible?

If that doesn’t help in your case, could you please share more details about the process you’re following and what outcome you intend to achieve with the sort functionality?

Thank you! 😊

Hi Sakshyarika,

Thank you for responding. I do not believe adding a custom text field would help in this case but please tell me based on my user case below.

After a user reviews the site using the HTML proofing tool. There may be 100+ comments made across a site.

For the person making the comments we have received feedback that they end up taking longer to review because as they go through the site they sometimes can't recall if they have made a comment on a particular page and the only way to go through that is to back through each proofing comment to find the page to see if they made that mark up.

For the person reviewing the comments to make updates, they have to click each comment to see what page that comment is on. The comments cannot be sorted by page so it really slows our process down and may cause redundancy. Users don't typically make comments in order as they are collaborating and getting feedback from others, so sorting by the date the comment was made does not group them by page. So we end up shuffling, opening, and reopening pages to make updates, which is not very efficient.

So overall sorting by URL we give all users the ability to quickly see what comments have been made by page since the comments cannot be grouped on one page. This is the simplest solution that I can see.

I hope you don't mind me stepping in for Basudha here. Thank you for taking the time to detail your use case. I understand why a custom text field wouldn't be helpful in this situation. Rest assured, I will forward your suggestions to the relevant product team, and if there's any progress in the future, I'll be sure to let you know.
