Dashboard view: highlighting new activity on tasks
I use the Dashboard view all the time and something I would find extremely useful is if when a task in my Active Jobs list has any new comments/activity, it would become highlighted somehow, e.g. like an unread email (where it's bolded).
Visually this would make long lists of tasks easier to stay on top of with new comments, etc. instead of always checking "Stream" or relying on email notifications. Because not all users consistently use the "@" tagging function. It also would eliminate having to click on "Inbox" to see new comments in the not-as-optimal long list view.
Hi Tamiko, thanks for sharing this! Something that comes to mind right away is something like an update stream, but based on filters. Right now, you can view an Activity Stream on a Folder basis, and I'd love to hear whether that works for you :) The idea to be able to base it on filters is great and I can see how that could be a useful addition!
I'm in favor of the original request. I prefer Dashboard view and if a simple highlight when the task had been updated/activity it would be tremendously helpful. Streams can just get lost and then you have to scroll to find the updates it's a back and forth operation. Attached is a mock up of an idea that would be great. You could either do something like the circles or the whole ticket squares. Whenever there ticket is touched, it changes to clear for that user and red for all other people on the ticket...and vice versa
Yes, I would this. I have a custom dashboards set up with all of my work and it would be really helpful if the tasks with recent comments would be highlighted. Especially since people sometimes people forgot to use the @mention so nothing shows up in the inbox.
i agree, this would be extremely helpful on reports, Table view and Dashboard
Thank you for supporting this idea Anu Kalsekar! 🙌
