Hi Jessica, glad you saw the new release! Let me know if I'm getting this right: you would like the person who created the task to be auto-assigned if a certain status is selected?
Hi Stephanie, yes that is correct.
Hello, I was just going through my Wrike Deployment and during our process mapping phase we identified that this functionality would be highly valuable for a process in our company. Please add my vote for this functionality.
We would love for our submission form to automatically assign the author in addition to our defaults.
Yes, it would be very helpful if the person that is filling out the project request form can be auto assigned as an owner.
I would like this function as well.
Ye we would find this really useful too.
PLEASE add this function.

Until Wrike provides a built-in way to accommodate this request (on task change to a specific status, assign the task to the task author), it's possible to accomplish via Wrike Integrate.
I've shared a sample recipe at https://www.workato.com/recipes/1066391
Auto assign author as owner! Yes!
Hey everybody, thank you for all of the feedback! It's been passed on to the Product team. I don't have an update for you at the moment, but as soon as I have one, I'll let you know.
I have some blueprint templates with multiple tasks that are pulled by request forms. Some of the tasks should be assigned to the "requestor" but there is no workaround for this problem.
Can you tell me if an upvote is an ❤️ on the first comment of the thread? This is not intuitive for me.
Thank you for your feedback, Rui Oliveira!
I'm sorry for the confusion - you're right, an upvote is basically liking the orin=ginal suggestion at the top of the page:

Any updates to auto assign for author of a task or request submission?
Hi Selena Jeter, welcome to the Community! 👋
Although there's no update from the Product team in relation to this suggestion, it should be possible to partially achieve this using Wrike's Automation.
You can create a rule where if a new task, for example, is created in a particular folder or project (for example, your personal folder in Wrike), it will be automatically assigned to you:
Please let me know what you think!

Lisa Hi - I'm not seeing the option to auto assign to author in Automation either.
I'd like to upvote any threads related to this - please let me know if there are more.
Hi Elizabeth Bayer, I've also found this one: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360037777334-Request-Forms-assign-project-to-

I'd like to add my upvote here. Being able to auto-assign the author of a request as an owner of the resulting task would be immensely helpful to my group.
Thank you for your support Michelle!
Auto assignment to the author would be a really basic feature. If this is done by a workflow status, ob by an automation rule, or by a space level setting, is irrelevant. It's just all about avoiding unassigned tasks!
Hi Florian Kislich, thank you for chiming in. You can achieve this by creating the tasks in My to-do section. Would this be an option for you?
Hi @...,
I have already discussed this suggestion here: https://help.wrike.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115002408545/comments/360011385293

Would also love to see the option to auto-assign to the author!
Oftentimes, we have personal project management blueprints. It creates a project with tasks within it. Without the option to auto-assign the subtasks to the author, we have to manually do this or else tasks won't show up on dashboards. We have too many users in our account to set up an automation for each one (i.e. if John Doe creates a new task, assign inside to John Doe).
Thanks for supporting this suggestion Anna Giacobbe 🙌

Is this going to get implemented? I would like to see this added to Wrike.
Hi folks!
We have recently released the ability to assign items to their authors through automation. Please find more info in this release note and let me know if that can work as a solution for you 🤗
