Someone showed me Smartsheets and their combined Table and Timeline view. Basically it's the table view with a split screen of the timeline to the right. In terms of UI/UX it makes it really easy for to understand timelines and dependencies as a user is entering tasks, dates, dependencies, etc.

I agree, it would be great to have this view. In the construction industry this view is standard with other scheduling softwares.

I'd like to see a split view as well, but not restricted to the timeline. For us it would work well with the workload view and board view. Maybe just have a split screen where the user can select which view appears in each pane.
We used to have this set up when using Trello and the Planyway calendar and it worked really well. I now quite often have to have two instances of Wrike open now so that I can see the list of tasks and then the availability of the team before I schedule each task in to a specific date and person.
